So, yeah, I can confirm that the bug exists and is reproducible.
Does this mean people should switch to Windows or Linux or FreeBSD or ChromeOS or whatever?
Not really. It'll be patched next week most likely.
IMO, its better that mission critical software works without debugging/driver updates/etc (ie email, spreadsheets, browsers, the window manager, etc) than to worry about slight issues -- all major software has them.
On Linux, you'll never have bugs like this, especially if you stick to a LTS version but you'll have to keep on using slightly older hardware and you'll run into a lot of BS when you do something that would be simple on any other OS like stream Netflix on a TV -_- Linux seriously isn't a good personal computer OS. Its great for servers and developers and that's it.
Windows? I have a Win 7 VM on this laptop. It's OK. I think I can go back to a Windows machine but, after memorizing the OS X hotkeys, I wouldn't bother. That's a total waste of 2 weeks.
So, yeah, I'll keep with OS X.
Also, the Mac's build quality is great. I've had this laptop for 3 years come Spring and it's doing well. My Windows laptops usually fall apart/die by now. Aluminum cases last a lot longer than plastic cases!
