Why don't the Democrats want to cut $39B from the Federal budget?
Is it because they need to pay all those gubment employees that are now making hundreds of thousands of dollars compared to the tens of thousands they were making just 3 years ago? Is it because the U.S. has more Czars than Russia has ever had? What's the deal?
I could be wrong, but from what I understand, the government is going to shut down because the Repukes want to cut $39B from the federal budge but the Demoscats don't want to. What the fuck is the deal? Listen people, we need to get rid of political affiliations. This isn't 1600's England where we need the Tories and the Whigs. Party affiliation is just another way to control the masses. I just wish Americans would pull their heads out of the sand and quit being so fucking naive! Vote Independent until the Left and Right can actually come up with a substantial plan to move America into the right direction. Right now it's a clear war between the right and the left and it's fucking disgusting, incomprehensible, and destroying America! I've never seen such a clearly divided split since the Civil War. The best thing for America is for an Independent to win the election. Our voices will be heard and we'll be screaming that enough is fucking enough!

The way I read it the republicans wanted to cut around 66 billion and the dems around 33 billion. Even if they cut the full 66 billion it is 1/10th of 1% of the budget. It is all for show.

This is just another one of the many stupid stunts the republicans are pulling to try and make Obama look bad. This one backfired on them though. No way they're coming out looking good on this one. Or who knows, maybe it's just a pre-written story we're all watching, and isn't actually real.

The cuts the Repubs want to make are just bullshit right now.
It's just "grand standing" to show that they are against "big government". Plus they are very interested in any circumstances that would make Obama look bad. Remember the Republican theme : "My goal is make Obama a one term president". They seem poised to do that no matter how much it will fuck you.

Why not articulate on your point, instead of just making some immature, childish jab?
Don't waste your precious time, I'll reply for you! "you stupid lib minds cant understand the smallest concepts of anything. why would I talk to you?" Thanks for the discussion. Was great!

As opposed to "Republican rhetoric, the Republicans want to get nothing done while the Democrats are trying to get everything done, Obama is a great president despite everything pointing to the opposite, the Republicans are just trying to slander his good name!" You're right, great discussion!

Everything that is being cut is being cut to further the republican political agenda.
Both sides are afraid to cut anything real. I think the dems should let the republicans cut - this will make the people hurt by the cuts fight all the harder in the future, polarize the middle, and bring the inevitable civil war closer. Since none of these cuts will affect employment or the economy, or actually significantly affect the overall budget or the size of government, they will soon be seen as the political payoff to the religious and racist base of the republicans that they are, and backfire on the republicans. I especially like the cuts to planned parenthood - women should be nicely polarized by that. And teh EPA cuts - people will be able to see for themselves what the republican agenda is, as those cuts move thru the system at the same time that the evidence for global warming gets stronger and stronger. |

Part of the debt is due to America going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, now they have the added cost of protecting rebels in Libya. So the first two are Republican's fault and all those who were whooping for joy as the US swung it's military into action at the cost of billions a day. Then there's the real reason behind the deficit. The US along with many other countries enjoys a standard of living it doesn't earn. The trillions of $$$ loaned were poured into the US economy and indirectly into yours and my bank accounts. People benefiting form the loans spend money, which fuels an economy to support a standard of living. Taking 1% out of an economy is going to mean 1% less being spent. Some of it spent on porn sites. Paying a Government employee means he can buy food, pay rent, surf the Internet and but a porn membership. And why are so many economies in a mess? Look in the shops, goods made in the 3rd World often in factories owned by the 0.05% or their goods bought buy the 1% to resell to the 99%. Figures to illustrate the point. Too many buy too much manufactured abroad, with money that was loaned. Either on a CC or from places like China, Saudi, etc. If you want to restart the US economy drive a smaller car made in the US and don't buy anything that was made outside the US. Same goes for UK, Eire, Portugal, Greece, Spain, etc. |

Democrats want to cut more that $39B from the budget... in fact, they want to cut almost $1.5T annually from the budget by ending subsidies for corporations and auditing defense. Republicans won't have it.

NONE of this would be happening if the Budget would of been passed on time.
Obama and Dem's would not have looked bad, if they would of passed this when they were in control of the house and senate with a Dem President. So who is making who look bad? |

Cut spending. There is NOTHING wrong with current tax rates. The idiot website you pulled this chart from doesn't show the effect of increased spending on the deficit, does it?

It takes 60 votes to close a filibuster by invoking cloture under Senate Rule XXII. It is sad that both sides can not budge a little. Heck the dems only needed 1 maybe 3 votes. |

The funny thing about right wingers is that they didn't say shit when Bush was spending like a drunk sailor and subsequently doubled the national debt but totally trip out over a 1.4% increase in spending by Obama (6.2% increase in debt) in 2010. When you add up who added what to the debt you soon find that more than 70% of the debt was created under Republican administrations and almost half of that was added between 2000 and 2006 while Republicans controlled all three branches of government.

Bush added thousands of new federal subsidy programs during his eight years in office. In 2008, there were 1,816 subsidy programs in the federal budget that spread hundreds of billions of dollars annually to special interest groups such as state governments, businesses, nonprofit groups, and individuals. The number of subsidy programs grew by 30 percent from 2000-2008.
One such subsidy was the American Dream Downpayment Initiative which cost $600 Million over 3 years from 2004-2007. This program subsidized low income homeowners to assist them to buy housing for no money down. The goal was to secure stability and prosperity, and the ownership dream was the way to achieve that. "America is a stronger country every single time a family moves into a home of their own," said Bush in a speech back in October 2004. To achieve that vision, Bush pushed new policies encouraging homeownership, such as the "zero-down-payment initiative," which was much as it sounds: a government-sponsored program that allowed people to get mortgages with no down payment. More exotic mortgages followed, including ones with no monthly payments for 24 months. Then there were mortgages with no documentation other than the say-so of the borrower. Absurd though this was, it paled in comparison to the financial innovations that surrounded those mortgages, derivatives built on other derivatives, packaged and repackaged until no one could identify what they contained and how much they were in fact worth. |
