Strange that some people I know are actually expanding their network of sites and pumping in plenty of cashola.

And it is not because their sales are way down that is for sure.

I would focus on pushing sites that have better content than everybody else. Seems that 95% of sites have the same lame ass quickly shot and uninspiring content.

for free? lets talk the facts mainly files are at free? hosting services such as rapidshare, but when you try to download them then they become more expensive than pay-sites content, usually files are corrupt, removed and virus, trojan etc. added.
