I love fruit cake, as a matter of fact it is one of the reasons why I enjoy the winter so much. I know a lot of people hate it but I think the stuff is great!

now if I could learn to like eggnog I would be all set for Christmas

Don't think I ever had something like in your image. Looks good, although I don't think I would eat it as I'm trying to ban flour and sugar from my life. I feel so ecstatic without it

They are great when they are fresh and moist. Unfortunately most fruitcakes have been around for quite a while - often re-gifted and/or forgotten.

Make it with some alcohol and it gets better the longer it sits. Fermentation continues. My Mom always made them from scratch.
