How Many Of You Are Active CyberAge Affiliates

and had their accounts cancelled?

not defending dave, i just don't think there were any affiliates left anyway. probably as many as satancash tbh ....

that biz model was done in 2005 probably, which is an eternity in internet time.

I dont think that many. They charge a whopping $19.95 per year to "verify" so you get like $10.00 a signup (or there abouts) which just isnt going to fly.

"Remember! This special 3-day ($1.97) membership will automatically convert to a full 1-year membership after December 19, 2010 for $19.95 per year unless you cancel before then. "

I just went and looked.. cyberage.com is not even centered. Does ANYONE like looking at a page that is leaning left all the time. I never got that.

the thing most seem to be complaining about is you shouldnt have to be active to get paid. even if you have old avs sites you haven't touched in 10 years that get sales, you should still get paid.

Yeah prob not much there anymore but who knows. Old pages still trickle in signups.

Thing is his reasons were what got everone going... could not contact by email, old or "inactive" sites, bad (or dead links) on his link site.

Just dont want goofy precedents being set.

What got me going was when Dave declared that "People weren't updating their sites, so the free ride is over!"

Really? So if I go out and build 1000 sites, and I'm so gracious as to send my valuable traffic to the CyberAge billing page... Dave is so bloody out of his mind that he tries to rationalize not paying people for the joins because they "haven't updated their sites"?

He doesn't even own the traffic. He's getting the money for doing nothing but being linked to, and he doesn't think you deserve the money if you "haven't updated your site".

You'd think by his attitude that Dave himself was the one personally generating the traffic and the joins, and that everyone else were his employees.

Looking at his stats it appears he might owe me $20 for the last 4 years (I never promoted them but a short time before 2003). :But the address is wrong so he may as well just have it. I'm not going to bother.

I think it is more about the principle. Those of us who do heavy rev share do not want all of our sponsors playing these games. If you stop converting I'm not going to keep sending you traffic but you still had better pay me for those valid rebills. That was part of the deal. Also I'm willing to bet a lot of people affected aren't on the boards and have left the industry. We might see them slowly trickle in more over time as they wonder where their checks went.

Like I said, people like Dave deserve to be humiliated and so does his family who also profited off of his theft. If I was one of the ones that got ripped off I'd be printing off 20 cookie cutter letters and sending them out to all of his neighbors. Don't be afraid, send one to his wife's employers send one out to any clients you think he is working with with his mainstream stuff. Make sure that any time this guy tries to do business it is shot down by him being revealed to be a thief. Make sure for the rest of his life his wife and kids, his friends and people he works with (or tries to) look at him as a thief and nothing else. Don't feel like you are bringing his family into this - he did that when he bought them things with YOUR money.

Yeah that whole updated sites thing makes one think he doesnt really grasp the whole deal too well.

Actually I agree with Dave on this point. Let's get rid of all the old sites. Prob help me. j/k

Exactly. I said in my first post the only reason I am spending time on all this is you just dont mess with the rebills.

Remember sponsors, just because an affil stops sending traffic doesnt mean he wont start up again. It is like gambling. It is never over unless you do something stupid.

I constantly turn progs off.. turn em back on.. just cause we pull traffic a while doesnt mean necessarily it is over.

Sponsors, you are "The House". Never close your doors and always smile.

Everytime I come to your dirty door I am gambling on you.

Run it like a Casino and pay me for every chip I have.

You have to realize the perspective. Many sponsors these days see their small and medium sized affiliates as being like scum. Riffraff within the industry who don't belong. It makes it easier to screw people if you see them as beneath you and undeserving of respect. You can always rationalize it that they are getting more than they deserve anyway so they should be thankful. You deserve your same lifestyle and screw everyone else.

About the small and medium sized affiliates being riffraff the irony is that usually these people are the more honest ones. It's more often than not the big guys who you see banging cards and running massive spam and scam operations. That's the real riffraff of the industry in my opinion and has been for many years not the honest middle class porn webmaster.

The "free ride" he may be referring to is that back in the days you could build a "site", cyberage would list it on their links page, so you got free traffic AND cyberage paid you on any sales from that traffic AND if you were creative you could even upsell that traffic to other sponsors... so you really contributed fuck all, just some time to build some quick sites... many people made a small fortune building sites for AVSs like that...

but what does this "free ride" have to do with anything? Sites are not updated, then he should cut them off from their link list, but continue to pay for any sales generated from that site...

AFAIK almost every AVS out there started linking to the protected url as opposed to the entrance url almost ten years ago for exactly that reason. So it's doubtful that people are making cyberage signups from the internal link list these days. Maybe some member's area upsells in the case where those sponsors even exist with functional affiliate programs.

Based off his response when someone posted his personal blog, I would say this is probably the most effective way to get his attention. It doesn't look like you guys are going to be paid anyways, so you might as well make him "pay" by exposing all this shit to people he knows in real life.

Dave, GO FUCK YOURSELF.

http://aux.avsofchoice.com/lnkwarn?refws=2359874

Notice the "Over the Cum" link, click that, 1st page has an upsell to some sponsor..
continue clicking, you get to the cyberage signup page...

so traffic that cyberage sends gets circle jerked back to cyberage, site owner makes easy $$$ from cyberage AND from some 3rd party sponsor...
what does cyberage get from this? some 10 year old gallery with 20 640x480 pics....

I really wonder what the total dollar amount that he owes affiliates, was it really worth not paying these people to have his name dragged through the mud and having webmasters fuck with his personal life as they did with Mallack.

Such an odd move.

Wow, I'm surprised. Looks like you're right although that's not a great example since tri tech seems to own that domain.

I know on my sexkey sites I still get signups and checks. That's the only AVS still generating any revenue on my old AVS sites. Almost all of that traffic seems to be coming from search engines and from the internal member area. Shocking. I thought all of them had quit doing that many years ago.

Still, as said he could simply delist the sites instead. There's no reason to stiff people.

There also are some costs involved. The total content on my AVS sites is near 15 GB. If they generated no revenue I would remove all that and redirect it.

It seems they actually were in pretty good position to take advantage of the tube craze... already had a good brand, right price point, ton of members, ton of affiliates, etc... so it is actually a bit surprising that it went down the way it did...

dave was convinced that if he kept whining on message boards instead of adapting to greater technological and social trends he could somehow keep those trends at bay.

adapt or die has never been more apt than in this case.

That's the real riffraff of the industry in my opinion and has been for many years not the honest middle class porn webmaster.
Yeah, kinda brought me back to thinking about the time when programs would only allow you to join their program if you could send 50+ joins a day... otherwise they'd drop you. lol

They literally thought they were the secret to your success.

I never used them. And because of their unethical behavior, I'll never even consider doing business with them in the future.

I used Cyberage since the VERY beginning and was ALWAYS paid on time. Last 4 months, I have gone unpaid and they blocked my ip, so I can't even view the site.

I'm curious when did they used to do that other than on the past few years for some of them? I remember when I started a little before your join date no one did that. I try to avoid adult programs who require manual activation because I find them to usually be trouble but every once in a while it happens. So I list some site which gets 1k / day which is otherwise perfectly clean and see what they do. Guess what some of them do or rather don't do? It's amazing how short-sighted, arrogant, and stupid some people are within the industry. Meanwhile they hemorrhage money and speak of the Pareto principle while doing hookers and blow until one day they end up like Cyberage.

My ip isn't blocked, but they locked me out of the stats admin back in August. They must have owed me a few hundred bucks or so before I removed my links.

Funny to see everyone saying avs is dead. There are other huge avs programs still sending out lots of decent checks.

Not "adapting" in this case isn't because "avs" is dead. You just have to tweak things and keep going. However if one is burned out and ready to "retire" they need to move on. Now ripping people's sales in the process, well that just shows character of that business in general.

Sounds more like CyberAge didn't feel like updating, is closing shop, and is blaming this on the webmasters instead. That's just flaky. Sex Key didn't do that, they updated things and people are still getting paid on sites almost a decade old. Even raised payouts.

I'm surprised another avs hasn't piped up yet and made a spam. lol

Realize that what we see here on gfy is a really small % of the actual business done out there. I'm sure it is more than that. And yeah old schoolers who put their sites on auto-pilot and doing other things now probably will not notice for weeks/months/years when they realize the checks no longer come.

I can't count the # of programs that have gone away (and im sure kept my sales) and I have to click a link on a years old page I own to find out. This is the same thing, except Dave hung out here and was Mr. Friendly so people thought they could see what was up by posting on gfy. That's the way it goes when you are a gfyer. Not all program owners are/were gfyers.

Did you read my entire post? I already named one.

I don't like to spout off actual business info on here, but the truth is out there.

when epass went down you saw how many people got fucked. same with jj. with dave we have two people totaling $220.

if anyone had any substantial income tied up in the cyberage situation you would be hearing about it. but it seems like literally 2 people do.

this drama is lame. it's christmas. go outside or visit your kids or something.

this drama is giving drama a bad name.

they sat on their hands way way too long. They were probably one of the many who thought tube sites would be a fad and fade away in a couple months. The more money you make the easier it is to get complacent and think nothing bad can happen to you.

Much like a lot of TGP site owners. I am amazed at how many tgp site owners didn't switch over to a tube site setup, they could have done an easy transition, add a "videos" section, hell they could have sold video spots on it just like they did links... but like everyone else they thought it was a fad and/or were lazy.

Some of them were too busy trying to make dating help sites where you could read body language and signs.
