Does it matter where you buy domain name?

Bigger company - bigger results...
or not...

Your experience...

What do you mean by "bigger company, bigger results"? If you mean that your site will do better if you buy the domain at a bigger company, then no.

It generally doesn't matter where you register your domain at. I tend to stay away from the registrars that feel like they can police the internet, like Godaddy has been known to do.

I don't think the registrar has much effect on SEO, but I could be wrong.

Most of my portfolio is at Moniker. I also use Namecheap and Godaddy (rarely Godaddy though).

If you are buying several domains and are planning to interlink them it's best to avoid obvious patterns:
- spread them out over several registrars.
- don't register them on the same day.
- use whoisprivacy.
- ...

It's also a good idea to avoid registrars that cater to scammers etc like estdomains....

I have heard the length of registration can give you a healthy kick up the serps. Spammers tend to register domains for 1 year, someone serious will register it for 10 years.

Use any of the bigger registrars, it makes no difference whatsoever.

Avoid directnic.com. ripoff merchants.
