He has so much porn accumulated over the years its slowing down his computer. He hasnt paid for porn in 5 years. So i ask him if bangbros or realitykings released a hot new episode would he signup just to download the full copy. They live in the suburbs. He has no clue what i do.

I heard a story of one webmaster, who said he put up like 50 picture gallerys and started making 60,000$ per month - this is in the days when internet porn first started.

So when there was no porn around - people paid for it.

Now there is 1000 tube sites, millions of tgps, porn is everywhere.

But to make that analogy, you are assuming the products walmart was giving away for free were all stolen. You are also comparing tangible goods with digital goods, big difference between those two.

If a store decides to give away products for free, which they often do with "get two for the price of one" promos, it's their problem. You're not breaking the law if you take a free product home. However, you are breaking the law if you illegally download copyrighted material.

If that makes any sense.

People search for "porn", Google tells them to go to Pornhub and it's all very convenient. They don't know they're breaking the law. People would pay for porn, but it's EASIER to get it for free.

The illegal sites are often more modern and professional looking than the pay sites, why would the surfer think they're doing anything wrong?

Perhaps it will take a LOT of time for our sales to recover because of the aforementioned possibility of "hoarding" and storing up "free porn". I would hope that the thirst for new/young/fresh porn starlets would alleviate somewhat the downloaders boycotting of new porn.

Not so much with the free music any more. A lot of people I talk to won't download for free because they're worried about being sued by the record companies.
