The majority of SEO hosting? Yep. It goes a lot deeper than that.

It must have posted the message immediately because I took a bit of time to adjust the options.

Its not a scam but it doesn't offer much value, a lot of seo hosts will market it as a needed service but most of the time its not. Not to mention most (regular) hosts will give you different C-block IP's if you ask nicely for the same rate.

I'd say it had value in the past... but now has no value. Just like Google Progressed through keywords in the domain... at one point it was helpful... but now has been devalued.

SEO hosting is like anything else. You have to know what you are doing.

I would hazard a guess that most do not know how to set it up right from the get go to maximize the value in the first place, and 90% claiming it doesn't work, have actually never bothered to do it.

I personally enjoy those who are/not webmasters citing some other complete stranger on the internet saying that it doesn't work. While those who actually have spent the time to do it, and set it up correctly, can cite from EXPERIENCE that it does in fact work.

Additionally, I would bet most hosts that are against it can't offer it. They also will go on a rant about how it's a waste of resources and na na na when web hosting in general is an endless waste of resources. Most people do not need high end boxes or bandwidth based on NEED. They buy on PRICE.

Here's an idea.

Let's pretend for a sec that we work in Mainstream, not smut.

In mainstream, when a supplier claims something he then provides proof to back that up.

Rather than calling everyone who says it is a rip off idiots, they publish things called Case Studies. There are reports where a client and a supplier work together. They examine the problem (say SERPS). They then work out a solution (say SEO hosting). They then do *research* that proves that after the solution was implemented, the client saw the problem be removed, or helped. In this case, a higher ranking for chosen terms.

It's so easy to set up, to measure and to prove it works or not I wonder why suppliers do not offer the marketplace such 'proof' if it does actually provide an ROI.

Or you can look at the fact that large web hosting companies, like Hostgator, offer it.

Hmmm... so a hosting company, which much bigger than most of those in adult space, is offering a product that is a "complete waste of time", snake oil, etc.. Got it.

SEO Hosting?

For me it would be a host with plenty of IPs that isn't closely related, what else could they provide that would have something to do with SEO?

I totally agree... But even if legit case studies were posted in an environment like here there would be constant debate... A lot of childish trash talking with no points... And Counter articles written by the so called "Trusted" board members here some of which are selling the involved products.

This is exactly what some do here... They respond to there opponents with 1 sentence statements that have no point. They call them stupid morons etc... and the best one is "its good for those who know how to use it" ... without going into the slightest detail. That again just implies that people are ignorant... Stupid... Etc.

You can always go do it yourself. Just make sure you set it up properly.

I currently use 14 different hosting companies because of seo related reasons. However, I stay far away from most companies that offer so called 'seo hosting' because their services offer no advantage over the way I'm already doing things and because most of the time they have no clue what they are doing and in some cases the way they have things set up could actually help Google identify your network.
