most technologically integrated treadmill out?
I'm looking for a treadmill.
So far this is the coolest thing I've found: http://www.nordictrack.com/webapp/wc...1_42001_127103 I like it because it has wifi, integrates with goggle maps, and I think I can add these workouts to my current mapmyrun/ride/etc. I might be wrong. Searching google for treadmill reviews is like searching for scat porn... there's so many shit results it's not even funny. Anyway, what is the sickest treadmill out there? |

Let me tell you something you might not know about treadmills.
When you run, and you have a good running shoe on, your foot impacts the ground (a solid object) and rebounds directly back. Much of this rebound is sucked up in your running shoes and the remained is sucked up in your knees. When you run on a treadmill, your feet are impacting with a moving object. Even the very best treadmills will have a small amount of movement both back and fourth and up and down. What this means is the forces being transfered back at your knees are not linear. The ligaments in your knees are left to deal with this side to side and up and down motion. So the morale of the story is the treadmill should be your last option. If you're going to use a treadmill, crank the incline way up and the speed way down so it's more like a power walk up a hill.

I just have a standard run of the mill treadmill I bought at a garage sale for 50 bucks. It tells me me the distance and callories burned. I only use it for walking on inclined. I;m old school and don't need expensive fancy machines. I have barbells, Dumbbells , and a bench with butterfly, and leg curl attachments

bought it, ended up getting it from Sears.
Could have saved $120 on Nordictrack.com but Sears got it here 5 "working" days sooner... whatever the hell that means. I'll post reviews later for those of you that might be interested. Thanks for the feedback, all! |
