So if i copy text from this site it automatically inserts a link

go to:

http://www.examiner.ie/ireland/passe...ee-144474.html

copy some text and past it:

The airline called in the police and evacuated all 166 passengers from the plane boarding at Lanzarote, eventually allowing only 66 back on to fly home.

Anger erupted on the weekend flight to Charleroi in Belgium after a passenger was stopped at the boarding gate and asked to pay extra for a piece of outsized luggage he was carrying.

puts link in automatically, sorry maybe noob stuff but I never see before

did you install that tynt site's software? I would have just figured out how to do it in javascript rather than signing up at some site and trusting their implemenation

so far what's the catch?

I signed up for tynt, which instructs you to put their javascript on your site, but I just installed the tynt plugin for wordpress where you put your tynt id in the settings and then can configure from wordpress.

So you need to create a tynt account first. I dont see any catch yet. but if there is one easy just disable the plugin

they just track what stories links are being shared and haven't found out how to monetize that information yet.

i posted a demo here awhile ago.

Code:
<SCRIPT type="text/javascript">
var bResult;
function fC(){
event.returnValue = false;
var cstr=document.selection.createRange().text;
bResult = window.clipboardData.setData("Text",cstr + " Courtesy of <a href='"+document.location.href+"'>"+document.title+"</a>");

}
</script>
place that in head.. then add the even handler oncopy="fC();" to the container holding your text..

such as <div id=mytext oncopy="fC();"> some words i want to protect </div>
