Thats $72k a year, I know a number of families that live on this or less and are doing ok. But still, if I was guaranteed that, I would probably just walk away from current life and go somewhere where I can be by the beach and live cheap

sounds like the perfect life right there. Ive tried to get my wife to move for awhile now. If we do it, we are going to wait until my son is finished with highschool in 3 years. Make the move for 10-15 years then come back and take care of both of our parents as they will be getting older.

BTW, to live is not just to eat, to buy clothes and other shit, pay loans, visit pubs and restorations etc. Normal life includes other things like support of parents (yes, here in Russia we used to support our parents with money and we don't kick them to some nursing home like a useless junk), sport, traveling (personally I prefer to travel a few times a year) and so on...

), and she said we spend much less - something around $1400..$1700 a month. But still, it's not like a couple hundreds of bucks

Somewhat, but I'd never want to stop working. I like a mixture of both worlds. Have my home office where I live in the Western world. This is where I have ambition, goals, get screamed at, get huge thank yous, develop ideas, etc.

Then I walk out of my office downstairs, and it's a totally different world. Great loving family, who are totally oblivious to what I do but only know it has to do with a computer. Works great, because any stress I had throughout the day disappears within about 10 minutes of spending time with everyone.

You can live a nice, comfortable life on that amount of money in the US, depending on where you live. Sure, if you live in Los Angeles or New York or Chicago etc likely your lifestyle won't be that great, but there are a lot of places where that amount of income could by you pretty nice house, a couple of cars and a nice life.

My idea was to understand if there is a need for extra dollar aside my current earnings to go work harder today.
