I have a mockingbird living in the tree behind my house. It sings very loudly literally throughout the entire night. I am figuring if I wait until mid-August when everyone on the block has their windows open with the nighttime heat I can blast the fucker with a shotgun and quite possibly receive a round of applause from my neighbors.

I think to kill for the sake of killing, is totally wrong

To kill for food, in a humane way is ammicable, to kill just because it annoys you is ridiculous, considering we have annoyed the mockingbird building around the trees.

I suggest you get a cat or do something that removes the problem over a few weeks, you shall find it vacates the tree & moves to another, lol, maybe in a tree in your back garden

Birds contribute to everything good about where you live. They are indicators of the health of your environment, propagate plant life through pollination and seed dispersement, and control the insect population. They also control the rodent population and eat pests harmful to plants and crops.

Agreed, i never thought about the insects that shall breed rapidly, simple as gnats that bite you in the night, making you close your windows... pretty pointless in the end

The shot guns are for chukar, dove, duck, geese, rabbits, the list goes on and it's served me well. I don't use them on things I am not going to eat. Even after I get drunk. But this fucking mockingbird is... well... mocking me!

Why does my neighbor have to have the tallest tree on in a 1/2 mile radius? Read up on it and that is why it chooses his tree. Going to talk to him and see if I can get him to cut it shorter.
