The IDF has furnished U.S. forces with its expertise in the detection and neutralization of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the largest cause of American casualties.

Israel not only enhances America's defenses -- it also saves American lives. A kibbutz-based company in the Galilee has provided armor for more than 20,000 U.S. military vehicles. "Two days ago, my patrol was ambushed by insurgents using 7.62mm PKM Machineguns," David C. Cox, a platoon sergeant in Iraq, wrote the manufacturers. "None of the rounds penetrated the armor of the vehicle, including one that would have impacted with my head." Marine gunner Joshua Smith, whose Israeli-armored vehicle tripped an IED near Marja, Afghanistan, described how his unit "walked away smiling, laughing, and lived to fight another day." Military medical experts from both countries also meet annually to discuss advances in combat care. One such breakthrough was a coagulating bandage, the brainchild of a Jerusalem start-up company, a million of which have been supplied to U.S. forces (and even applied by a Tucson SWAT team medic to stanch the life-threatening head wound of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords).

In return for its aid to Israel, the United States receives not only an armed but an innovative ally, enhancing America's military edge. That contribution is real and requires no lobbyists to fabricate it. This article is hilarious and every point in it is foolish. Free trade agreement? Check how much more Israel gets out of the 'free trade' agreement than the United States does. The 'free trade' agreement with Israel is basically an aid program to Israel that funnels money every year to Israel and away from the United States. This is on top of the billions of aid that the United States gives to Israel, second only to Iraq.

Your first point that if Islam ruled here the US would have more difficulties in the Middle East is another silly point. Why would Islam rule here? How many Muslims are in positions of power in the United States? How many Israeli supporters are in positions of power? How many Jewish people are in positions of power? Why is there no worries about Jewish people 'ruling' the United States even though the religions are similar? The reason that the US is even fighting any wars at all is for Israel, not to protect itself against Islam. Not only are Muslims not even close to taking over the US, their population is grossly under-represented in the US as a percentage of the population versus the population of the entire world.

The reason other countries aren't pro-American isn't because they're born that way. It is because the US gives them reasons to be anti-American. Take Iran for example where the CIA funded and helped a dictator into power. Take Afghanistan where the CIA funded and trained terrorists that took over. Take Palestine where the US supplied missiles to Israel and during the same time period over 1,000 CHILDREN were killed by Israel with that type of missile. The hate doesn't come from anywhere, it comes from long standing policies that give security to Israel at the cost of oppressing other Middle Eastern countries. Now with that in mind, knowing that the US in an official sense supported the murder of thousands of innocent people, tell me why they SHOULDN'T hate the US for what they do. The US kills more innocent people in the Middle East than terrorists have ever killed Americans, and how much do Americans hate terrorists? Just imagine the hate you would have for yourselves if the situation were reversed.

In times of danger Israel has attacked and killed Americans, like on the USS Liberty where 34 Americans were killed and 170 wounded after multiple warnings to the Israelis that they were attacking a US ship.

Point 4 is ridiculous, why should the United States have any military presence in the area at all? The only reason that trillions of dollars are spent in the region is to protect Israel.

That doesn't mean anything other than the US bought things from Israel that they could have bought from Americans thus further diminishing the US's capacity as a manufacturer and shipping jobs from the US to Israel.

Israel is one of the only countries in the world to have illegal nuclear weapons. While Israel takes a hypocritical stance on Iranian nuclear power Israel refuses to sign the NPT and refuses any and all weapons inspectors in Israel. Iran allows weapons inspectors and has signed the NPT. Prominent Israeli military leaders have even said in the past that if Israel is in danger of falling then they would destroy the whole world. Does the United States really need an ally that holds all the American people's lives hostage while it continues to break international law after international law? How long will it be before Israel breaks one too many international laws and the world tries to stop it and Israel nukes the entire world? It may seem silly and barbaric but that's exactly what Israelis have promised would happen.

Are you okay with your children, wives, husbands, moms and dads all dying because Israel wants to continue to murder children and use illegal chemical weapons on civilian populations?
