clicked on links to xprofiles and amateur match and wouldn't let me out of facebook due to the links being associated with spam and malicious activity.

is this new?

Clicked on a couple of them yesterday coincidentally, went to the dating sites just fine. I've never noticed/clicked on ads on facebook before, I was surprised there were even dating ads there.

Exactly. I don't see why it's being compared to Hitler for actively policing abuse of their service.

Remember what happened with MySpace?

I think Facebook's service is already at risk. Too many people are abusing the features. I'm already ignoring all the fake events, groups, pages and app requests. Which = bad news for Facebook.
