"US officials did not issue a tsunami warning for the Pacific Ocean."

"There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries."

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, based in Hawaii, said there was "no current warning, watch, or advisory"

I saw a show on bbc awhile ago where they talked about a Mega Tsunami in Alaska, which was 1/2km tall. They are created by landslides from mountains rushing into the water below.

Hopefully this earth quake hasn't triggered one of those.

Here's a clip from that show: https://youtube.com/watch?v=yN6EgMMrhdI

Was there a reason why you cherry picked the report.

"The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not issue an alert, but the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said a tsunami warning was in effect for the coastal areas of Alaska from Unimak Pass to Amchitka Pass."

Not many people live up that way. Amchitka Island was a nuclear test site. Unimak Island has less than a 100 residents but I bet they all live near the coast.
