Shame he ignores all emails from his affiliates. I haven't read all of the posts to see what the resolution is to people not getting paid -- but he continues to send out useless gallery promotional emails to his affiliates (with no way to unsubscribe from his list), so he is still trying to drum up business.

If anyone has a private email contact for him, please post it.

You are no doubt wondering why so late... Sadly, the real drama isn't any single massive piece of juicey gossip, it's just a lot of real life grindy shit, which I will now bore you with.

The short version is, in 1999 I had a heart attack, recovered, started Simonscans and generally tried not to moan. Everything went just fine until VAT came along in late 2006 and took all my savings, ho hum. VAT = 20% sales tax on about 50% of all surfers. Roll on 2008 when peak porn hit - and my health promptly took a nasty turn for the worse and ended up having a quadruple bypass, which not only burned all my savings, yet again, but I also have to admit, I took my eye off the ball just a little. Just keeping the site going and none of you noticing that I wasn't around was an achievement in itself.

Ever since then we have been playing catch up - it's taken a long time to get back on my feet, and the most annoying thing is we're almost there. An investment property I own will sell very shortly and everyone will get paid. Contracts should have exchanged last week, but lawyers had one more question. It has taken a lot longer than it should have done, but there you go. I was hoping it would be a pension, but never mind. The hope was it would sell, we'd catch up with the affs and no one would notice.

And the straw that broke the camels back and stopped me paying was, of course, the taxman, who this year would not give us any arrangement AT ALL - having been late 2009, 2010, this year we had to pay the lot all at once. Which stung a bit.

And before anyone gloats too much, think on this. I cannot borrow money for the business. My health issues make me about as unbankable as it's possible to be. For the entire life of Simonscans (One S in the middle, by the way) it has had to run on nothing but cash.

Pull your links, don't pull your links. Say nice things or bitch and moan - when this moment is passed I'll not bear any grudges. Everyone will get paid. Simonscans will continue.
Good luck with everything. It's refreshing to see such honesty for once. Something that can be considered a 'reason' instead of the typical 'excuse'.

Irrelevant.
While it's refreshing to see the honesty of simonscans in this thread, it's something that rarely ever happens. Unaccountability, generic excuses, and empty vouches are the norm. If a sponsor owes even $0.01 to one person, that should be enough to get them on the list.

Some of you guys need to grow up. Businesses paying late sometimes is a part of all business, it certainly happens all day every day in every business online and off.

I can imagine for those living at home with their mums, living week to week, it can become personal. But it is in fact just a part of business.

That list now says Simons scans isnt paying. When in fact simons scans is just late in paying. A very big difference. As everyone who has any experience of running a business would know.

You're an idiot. Plain and simple.

Over the course of ten years, I worked for some of the largest and most well known ad agencies in the world and was not paid late once. I ran a small real estate brokerage in NYC for two years and, even though the business itself failed for other reasons, every agent received their split within 48 business hours after the commission check cleared the bank. Every staff member was also paid on time every time.

While it appears as if you're defending Simons cans, you're also fucking him because your behavior and attitude are perpetuating the environment which made him hesitant to come forward and be honest about the situation in the first place. Even despite the fact that he had valid reasons that most understanding people would accept as being legitimate.

He seems like a nice, honest hardworking guy and his straightforwardness in addressing the issue makes me more likely to promote his sites even though I have what is otherwise a hard line stance against programs who have ever paid even one day late.

Despite that, I'm fine with him being on the list because such a list needs to exist even though there may be some collateral damage. Based upon Simons cans response, it appears that he is accountable enough to where he will just accept the consequences for the time being and just continue to do as he's always done. Seeing as he's run a highly regarded program for a considerable amount of time, he probably also knows that approaching the situation like that is better than bitching and moaning about being on the list.

There's really nothing more for you to say, Johny Traffic, but if you want to discuss this any further and make it to where I'll consider you to be at least slightly relevant, and therefore take personally your cheeky little comments about me needing to grow up and how I live week to week at home with my mum, be a good little bitch and start a new thread so we can do so outside of the simons cans thread.

Just in case I don't see it, please email jimmycooper / at / starletsheet / . / com and let me know when it goes live. While I really don't have the time, it has been a stressful week, so it might actually be kind of fun to blow off some steam and get medieval on your ass. Thanks.

Just a quick note to say payments have now started going out again. Paxum is going in two batches, one already done. If you are US based and currently get a cheque or wire, don't forget we can now ACH if you wish.

I expect all outstanding payments to have left here by the end of the week.

And, thank you all for your patience!

I wish, just a lot of local knowledge. It's a shocklingly expensive place but we know a few villa owners now so we can pick up the random days they can't usually sell. - but if we weren't already going we would no way start now.

James Blunt has a house in Ibiza, the usual infinity pool and helipad malarky, but what made me laugh was the club license. Villa parties now get fined loads 20,000euro or so, so what he did was have his HOUSE licensed as a NIGHT CLUB! Genius.

Hope you recover fully Simon and get back to normal. I've been through a similar situation and know what it's like. It was Eva's health and my being locked out of our bank accounts that screwed us.

Do you have anyone else you can trust the financial side to?

As for VAT, well that's tough given the margins many sites work on. 20% of 1/2 the sales is 10% of the turnover.

That would send a lot of sites down.

I haven't even received my cheque for March.
I've heard that Simon began making pay-outs on demand lately, but he
didn't reply to my email as well.
I'll leave my login here: a45123, let's hope that Simon will read this topic.

Sorry Shakhtar he seems to have gone to ground. I do remember him saying he was very ill and this caused his earlier problem of not paying. Maybe he passed away or to ill to work or just closed it up and its running on auto pilot.

  1. I'm not dead.
  2. PM made no attempt to contact me by email or phone. I guess he just wanted to looking connected or just to shit stir.
  3. Shakhtar - can we talk you into being paid by ACH instead of check in future? I checked today and a check has been cancelled and one re-sent but ACH would be instant.

Anyone who needs to contact me can get hold of me at [email protected] or [email protected] Please DO NOT use the messaging system within NATS to message me. I'd switch it off if I could work out how.

FYI It's June, which means mostly what I'm doing is shoots, hence being less around than usual.

Not my job to come looking for you so you can make sure your affiliates are being paid. As for emails, seems people have been doing that and not getting replies. I asked a few people on B&B, I don't have your contact details.

Gotta love the companies that make you come to them for payments, allows them to keep the money of the ones who dont go through the troubles of contacting them or dont notice. Its amazing how many affiliates put up with it and amazing how many companies actually do this

Paying people who sent you the sale is not very hard, the money is in your account because they sent you the sale, give them their half when cheque time comes. Fucking handwrite them if you have to, personally paypal them, paxum, wire, etc - Do something.

I never get tired of seeing the "contact us about your payment" - how about you contact them and go out of your way considering you screwed up and are late. You know exactly who hasn't been paid. Send out a mass email if its everybody.

Its 2012, its not like these programs have thousands of active affiliates.

No they aren't - and haven't been for around 4 years - though you could still be getting rebills from that time. Since then we've moved billers twice, both times we mailed every aff multiple times notifiying of the changes.

I've added you on ICQ BTW.

To be fair to some, no one in particular, and as I suffered a similar problem when Eva was in hospital. For small companies it's sometimes left to one or at best two people to deal with this. And sometimes they have so much to do.

Still it should be a matter of running through the stats and making payments.

Simon, I?m so glad to hear that you are still alive and kicking!
Actually I would prefer to receive my pay-outs by checks. All the
previous checks that you sent out were received successfully. As to
the last two checks, they just were not sent out if the NATS?s
information was right. The checks for 2012-03-01 and 2012-05-01 are
?Pending? and marked in the column ?Payment Sent? as ?Not Yet Paid?.
I am sorry that I am trying to settle my payment issues in this topic,
but you are not replying to my emails sent to the addresses you have
given. Maybe they end up in your spam box or something.

I've just checked with accounts - the check was sent last week but not marked as paid in NATS.

Looks like this guy is in trouble. He had a problem earlier and said he was ill or similar. Then in June he was shooting. Now mid August and still problems.

If this doesn't get him in here screaming at me, nothing will.
