Billing Options

Alright, so the amount of billing companies drive me nuts. I have no idea what to offer our customers as a billing option.

Right now all we have is CCBill (credit card payment) but we obviously want to add a few other options. I've read a lot about Epoch as a backup processor so I'm definitely going to look into that. We were considering to add Webbilling for European bank payments aswell.

What other options are REALLY recommended? Like SMS payment, phone payment, etc.

Any info would be much appreciated

I highly recommend VEROTEL, they've been around forever and i've never had a problem with them. They pay like clockwork and their techs are helpful with setting up processing.

CC,US checks,Direct Debit Europe,1-900 billing US and Europe.

Verotel Classic has no set up fees and % are competitive.

Verotel has been reliable for a long time. That's important since billing companies come and go, taking your rebills with them. Although they have been at the top for a while, Ccbill continues to develop, adding new features and improving. I would therefore keep them as primary. Gxbill does by thr minute phone billing I believe, as does passwordbyphone. Dhd media has been reliable, though somewhat under the radar. They continue to improve, though they are in some ways the quickie mart to Ccbills Walmart.

This is what alot of people fail to recognize. Longevity and reliability. Verotel has been processing for over 12 years now and they aren't going anywhere. This is a good thing if you're counting on long term customers. I would say the same for ccbill, they're in it for the long haul.

If you are a CCBill sponsor, than using Sliiing is exactly the solution which you are looking for. I don't think there is any better out there.

Hi Guy,

there are hundreds of payment companies outside. And all of them having their pros.

BUT: there are only a few payment methods (Credit Card, sofortbanking (online wire), Direct Debit (ELV), mobile payment, eWallets...).

So, out of my point of vew:

Depends on users country you have to serve, you should think about accepted and lived payments in those countries --> local alternative payment options. For example Germany:

Population: ~ 83 Mil
Credit card penetration: ~ 20%
Bank account penetration: ~ >80%
Mobile payment: ~ > 100% (Note: The payouts ~60% has to fit with your biz model)

So it seems to be that sofortbanking (online wire) and / or Direct Debit (ELV) - both based on Bank accounts - are more interesting than credit cards in Germany.

SOFORT.com is around since years. Your professional partner in alternative payments. We do offer instant online wire, direct debit (ELV) and age verivication.

Hit me up whenever you wanna talk about increasing european turnover without raising traffic.

Cheers,
Sascha

Thanks for the awesome answer. You hit my point exactly. I appreciate all the replies, but I'm looking into payment METHODS more rather than companies.

Right now our clients can only use their creditcards, we have a lot of European traffic that are not able to pay by bank.

What's important to us is that our affiliates get paid like clockwork aswell and that all systems are connected (if possible).

I will definitely get in touch with you this week to talk things over. Thanks

Eh, these are payment METHODS - CC,US checks,Direct Debit Europe,1-900 billing US and Europe.

100% of the time there is a COMPANY who is attached to using those methods.

I have CCBill as a Primary Proccessor and Verotel as a backup processor. I'm thinking of pulling Verotel because a) we get more chargebacks with them, and b) there direct debit and cheque system seems more open to abuse. Ie. Guy joins up with one of the above billing methods, downloads your content then uploads it to file sharing sites then cancels the direct debit or cheque!
I signed up for Epoch but they wouldn't accept my public 2257 address as it's a PO box address, so they suck as far as I'm concerned. I'm a UK producer and would have hoped common sense may have prevailed but I was wrong.

So CCBill is the best option I can recommend for anyone at the moment.
