That article was about the most vague and speculative thing I have ever read but I guess the one takeaway from it that has journalistic merit is that hackers took the site down. Other than that everything else is a huge maybe what if possibly could happen.

First off, Diane Duke can go fuck herself. We have already answered her allegations that we did anything illegal to take that site down and for her to keep bringing it up simply reeks of jealousy and contempt.

and if you read the shit story over on Xbiz they would have you believe the FSC took down PWL (No I am NOT kidding)

I will not sit idly by and allow those fucking parasites at the FSC to take credit for what a lot of good people did. We used our money our time and our resources to accomplish that goal.

Ya, I read that, She made it sound like they were minutes away from taking it offline, but you just barely beat them to it.

If you're expecting facts from Xbiz, you are barking up the wrong tree. It's called advertising journalism, whomever advertises, gets the words they want in the story, and even then, Xbiz can never get a story 100% accurate.

I was literally just reading her post two seconds ago and didn't even bother finishing. She just rambles on and on and on. Is the FSC even good at anything? Have they ever been good at anything? The idealist in me wants to think that maybe at some point, some time ago, that they were effective at something, but then they just kind of lost their way and got stretched a little to thin.

I don't doubt that for a second. I have known Mike since he got into the biz and people love him or hate him but regardless I can certainly vouch for his being honest and ethical. But no offense, as long as I have read AVN I have never ever really seen it do real journalism on a story - which is certainly understandable - it doesn't pretend to be that. It is a trade magazine so it has a different mission and purpose to serve that is certainly valuable as well. However, this is a real news story and will best be served by taking a more investigative approach imho.

Even if it results in lines like "Donny Long could not be reached for comment" or whatever it would be nice to really get more than just a fluffy puffery piece of gloat schtick on this whole thing.

Far-L I see a change in AVN that I am liking, certainly a more open attitude to address the industries issues, honestly.

If the article Theo mentioned is the one I think, it will provide a lot more info, it was well researched and well done, the author spent probably 40 hours on it in just 2.5 days, she is to be commended for ability to meet a tough deadline.

As I said in another post we still cant tell everything because this is an ongoing war that isn't won yet, we used short, medium, and long term strategies and we were all pleased when short worked but we must make sure it stays dead and until the war is truly over we have to remain vigilant, and some what secretive about ongoing ops ;)

As I pointed out in a blog post yesterday it really was Anarchy at work and it did work.

We, as an industry, are in a transitional period and I think AVN sees that and is working hard to help the industry through it.

Did you guys archive which sponsors were advertising on PWL and was any attempts made to them to try to get them to stop. IMO, they are no worst than Donny or Lawrence Tierney.

I see this guy was referred to as the "money man" backing the site in the AVN article as well. But why no mention of the sponsors who were listed on the site, i bet he made more money from them then the "money man".
