Anyone have Amazon Prime?

Curious what the online video selection is like. Can't seem to find a catalog listing. All of the ads for Amazon Prime talk about thousands of videos.

What I'm really wondering is how it compares to Netflix. I would imagine there is a lot of overlap.

I have had a prime membership for years. I was not aware they launched that, going to check it out now and will report back.

yeah i have it. tons of streaming videos, more expensive than netflix on things like tv episodes but comparably priced re: movies. i haven't compared the free listings of each though. as you know, prime includes other benefits like crazy fast shipping and xcllnt customer service, etc. i've had mine for ~4-5 years now.

I've had Amazon Prime membership for years and have checked out their "selection" of movies, shows, etc.. It's pretty darn weak. In fact that's too kind. It's extremely unimpressive which is a surprise because I'm a big fan of Amazon.

I just realized there is a free one-month trial. Will give it a whirl.

It's not that great but sometimes you can find something that netflix doesn't have. Just another tool in the arsenal.

what's everybody streaming through these days? was planning on a roku box but am liking these new super blu-ray players that are wi-fi enabled and have a similar feature set as roku.

I use my Xbox 360 for Netflix, use the WDTV Live for other things.

I find the no-additional-charge streaming selections on Netflix superior to those on Amazon Prime, but neither has a great search feature for streaming.

Make sure you properly cancel the trial once its over if you don't wanna contine with amazon prime, I made the mistake of not canceling it and ended up paying when I never used the service. They gave me a refund when I called them so it was all good.

Yes! What's the deal with that? Netflix has no mechanism to easily browse through their online catalog, drives me nuts.

I still pay the satellite bill every month so I have not yet researched alternative ways to get my local channels. The WDTV Live has quite a few internet services (youtube, facebook, pandora, flickr, live365, mediafly, deezer, tunein, flingo, and weather). I use Pandora through the WDTV Live to stream music to my entertainment center. I use the external harddrive for streaming blu-rays.

Probably doesn't answer your question but gives a bit more incite.
