not really sure what you are speaking of.... drove a vette for 7 years... other than routine maintenance very little repair, like only 2 repairs actually and they were both at the same time... at 100K miles

I'm in a similar situation, looking to get a car to replace my f-150 lightning, got rid of my S550 in March... I want something more fuel efficient, paying avg 1.40 a liter cdn for premium has gotten old.

You're lucky. My vettes always took a little more love. But then again, I drive them more aggressively and on a much more regular basis than you probably do. My point is that people hit a point in their life when they need something shiny, and because the Vette is a lot of power for a low price, they usually feel like they can "afford" the car by just looking at the sticker or monthly payment. They don't take into account the cost of maintaining a car like that -- the more expensive gas, the potential for very expensive repairs of that shiny V8 or transmission goes bad, etc. You or I may not notice the expense, but someone living paycheck to paycheck definitely will.

In recent times, a warranty has become a HUGE selling point on the sports cars -- and even more so when they are "higher end" sports cars. Not really the same category of cars, but I can tell you that at least 50% of the buyers I talked to when I sold my Viper were calling because I was willing to transfer the warranty.

It was advice from someone who has sold a lot of cars like that, but do your own thing, I guess.

Makes sense. This is why I am looking to trade it in before I have to form out more money. I have already spent over 1k on tires and barely drive it. Only 32k miles and I baby it.

Wouldnt you be sad if you sold it and the only thing it needed was a 4-wheel alignment. Take it to Big-O tires and get it done.

But hey, dont listen to me....

I didn't mean it in a bad way. If you're not going to use the full potential of the car, you may as well get something luxurious. Since you like GM, why not something like a Caddy CTS? Quick and comfy.

The CTS is definitely a good choice if you're a GM person. I test drove one before going with the most recent BMW, and absolutely loved it. My only gripe is that they wouldn't take my Cadillac limousine in trade, which I thought was BS -- Caddy not accepted at a damn Caddy dealership?! It cost them the sale.

Haha. I traded the Cadillac limousine on a BMW 530i, which I am now selling. I go in/out of cars very quickly. I didn't need the limo anymore when I stopped having a cheap driver -- I'm not driving my own damn limo! LOL!

That is definitely nice when you can hire a couple of guys to look out for you and drive, though..

You could always pay them in access to female(s) and get a good driver..

I think I know what you mean and I don't think I'd get into the car with someone THAT inexpensive (or that kind of inexpensive)
