Important Book to read for those interested making money on the Internet
FREE RIDE by Robert Levine
"How the Internet is Destroying the Culture Business and How the Culture Business Can Fight Back" This interesting book seems to only be available in the US at the moment. I read the first few pages on line and it seems to be very interesting. Maybe someone in the States can give it a read and let us know... Sounds like it might have a lot of very interesting information that will effect us all over the next few years. |

How can you say that it is an important book to read when you haven't read it?

I do not want to read the whole book. May be you can impress us with an example? Then I will buy this book.

I read the review in the Guardian (online... fortunately I don't live in the UK any more), and a lot of the comments, and would really like to read the book.
The point, mentioned in the review, that the Internet took the "culture industry" by surprise is pretty well obvious. In a time when copyright owners are called "trolls" when they try to enforce their copyrights, it's plain that the pirates and their surrogates have the upper hand. I'm interested to read what the author suggests as remedies. Here's a link to the Guardian review: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology...-levine-review |

Big difference between someone who copyrights their own creation and a copyright troll.

Oh good god no. You totally misunderstand the term. A copyright troll is a person/company that buys or makes patents on items, then waits and then takes money from anyone that uses his patent. It has absolutely dick all to do with copyright for, say IP.
