:mad Royal Buttload Of Movies Coming Out (trailers) and some picks

Damn just checking IMDB and there are a shitload of new movies coming out soon-
1)The Thing
2)Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (US version)
3)Straw Dogs (remake)
4)Contagion (Soderbergh, huge cast)
5)Troll Hunter
6)New Sherlock Holmes
7)Darkest Hour

and more...should be a good (or at least interesting) fall/winter for flix
go here to see all trailers-
http://www.imdb.com/features/hdgallery

Recent ones I've seen I can recommend are-
1)Hesher - Heavy metal mental case works his way into the lives of a destroyed family and sends them to hell...and back. Funny, sick and sweet.
2)La Bella Durmiente (sleeping beauty) has little to do with the fairy tale, involves a drug addict girl who could be a murderer. Foreign film.
3)Grave Encounters - a group of ghost hunters enter an old insane asylum and begin to lose their minds. Good horror, worth seeing.

Anyone else see some good flix lately? Recommendations?

I'm pissed!

No new Star Trek until at least summer 2012.

No Logans Run remake until at least 2014.

Why go on living?

They ruined Trek when they decide to change the entire history of the series as if none of it ever happened.

Seriously they are redoing The Thing? Wtf is wrong with the original? Can't Hollywood do anything but remake old movies these days?

This is supposed to be the prequel to Carpenter's movie and it looks more like the 50's movie where they discover something in the ice and bring it back to the camp so I don't know, will see it though.

well man, in horror plots are rarely original. it's another spin on blair witch docu-horror but in many ways better than blair witch by far.

umm that was pretty much the storyline of the original movie. They found a frozen space alien and brought it back.. Ice melted and it started killing everyone.

Hell some of the scenes in the trailer looked like the exact scenes in the original, so no way is it a prequel. I mean the dog in the cage , flame throwers ect..

Original trailer

Remake

Granted it looks like a decent remake, but I just don't get why Hollywood keeps redoing every damn movie instead of putting more original content out there. I think they have just gotten so far over their heads with movie budgets that they are just scared to risk it on anything new.

I was split about watching Grave Encounters, because the trailer gives away what would have probably been a huge scare, if I didn't know it was coming.

I just watched Kevin Smith's "Red State" OnDemand. It was pretty good.

Remember the dog at the beginning of '82 The Thing? The one that was being chased by the helicopter and ended up at Kurt Russell's base? The new Thing movie is about what happened at that Norweigan base, that the dog escaped from. So its a prequel.

aye, in the original 50's movie (which is great btw) they find the thing in a block of ice and bring it back, ice melts etc. just like this new version, so it's mix of sorts. All along they have been saying this is the prequel with what happened to the norwegians although in the trailer they don't seem very norwegian;)

Yeah, I don't know how why there's a black dude at a Norweigan arctic base in the 80's. But it's a Hollywood movie, so even a Norweigan base is full of Americans, so multiplex outh-breathers aren't too confused about why people are talking so funny.

it's a prequel. If you watched the original you remember where in the beginning the Americans see the Norwegians chasing after their dogs trying to kill them. They then go to the Norwegian base camp and see everyone dead. This new movie is the story of the Norwegians.

Look 23 seconds into the trailer when the helicopter is landing and you'll see the flag and 26 seconds when the chick is getting out of the truck. It clearly says OSLO on it.

Fucking gay. Making a movie after a board game? I like Liam Neeson but sometimes he can do some shitty ass movies. A-Team also comes to mind.
