Anyone in Toronto Have a Rogers HD PVR?

I have a Rogers Cable HDPVR box, and three "regular" cable boxes.

Half the time when I'm channel surfing, I get a message saying This Channel Is Currently Not Available - Please Try Again Later. Of course, it doesn't work later, and I end up having to unplug the box and resetting the POS.

This is the 2nd PVR they've sent me - the last one did not work at all - and I've lost count of how many regular cable boxes I've gone through.

The idiots even ran new cable into my house - with very little improvement. My cable bill is $155 (and change) each month - which is fucking insane for the service I get.

I've had a HD PVR box that I bought from Futureshop during boxing day just over 2 years ago and its worked without a single glitch ever since. No idea why yours isn't working, but mine's had no trouble. Sounds more like its a registration error with the rogers network that your pvr isn't recognized as a valid device if thats the error you're getting.

I think the answer is that I have to buy one instead of renting one from Rogers.

I dont know Rogers, but surly, if you are renting one, then doesn't the 'law' states it should work 100% correctly?

In the UK, we have something called Sky HD and if your box goes wrong, they have to fix it... So I have to assume that its a diff system in Canada?

Seems strange, cause in the UK, if you 'Buy' then you are pretty much 'On Your Own'... But if you RENT... You have legal options to fall back on.
