Netflix keeps DVDs on netflix.com

Netflix has announced that they will not be moving the dvd section to another domain

Quote:
It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.

This means no change: one website, one account, one password?in other words, no Qwikster.

While the July price change was necessary, we are now done with price changes.

We're constantly improving our streaming selection. We've recently added hundreds of movies from Paramount, Sony, Universal, Fox, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, MGM and Miramax. Plus, in the last couple of weeks alone, we've added over 3,500 TV episodes from ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, USA, E!, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, ABC Family, Discovery Channel, TLC, SyFy, A&E, History, and PBS.

We value you as a member, and we are committed to making Netflix the best place to get your movies & TV shows.

Respectfully,

The Netflix Team
guess they didnt like that new domain name either

They have pulled the ultimate PR fail with this move. I bet they lost a decent amount of rebillers. I canceled this past weekend. Their streaming service is starting to blow. Nothing we want to watch is available for streaming, so we said the hell with it.

It really is a huge fail on their part. I can't remember the last time I have seen a large company announce a big restructure and then 2-3 weeks later say fuck it.

I cancelled their DVD service last week but still have streaming. Not because the service was bad but we only watched maybe 2 movies a month. I will just go to redbox if I want a blu-ray at this point.

I doubt it hurt them.

This is one of the best examples of not having a clearly defined plan in place. These guys will remain a huge player and even though they may lose some existing customers the demand is present for this type of product in the marketplace. New people will continue to subscribe to their services regardless. But I mean really???....Do your homework before pulling a stunt like this netflix. This stuff is amateur hour...

Blockbuster has a chance to take back some ground here, if they can manage to do things better the second time around...with new management.

This move was genius really. In one month they ran off the shittiest, whiniest, faggiest, and most likely to piss and moan customers. They got rid of the fuckwits who complain about every stupid thing and sent them to their competitors. Anyone left now likely loves the service and thinks that $15 or $16 a month is fucking awesome for video on demand and DVDs by mail.

I would have preferred a 'Steaming' selection, as opposed to a 'Streaming' one...

I saw an ad for Dish Network over the weekend and it said you get access to the Blockbuster home DVD service for free when you have Dish Network service. That is a nice little extra that should help them grow their market share, just not too sure how much it will effect their bottom line.

All you hear on gfy is how is easy to get any content online for free. Hollywood flicks or adult ones...

Yet, when Netflix changes its policies and couple options, everybody freaks out and bash them

Same situation for me.

Yeah, I hate hundreds of thousands of customers making me millions of dollars every month who complain about the service they keep paying for, fuck them! What where they good for anyway?
