They are always there with their hands out, but when one of our stores in Dayton, Ohio ran into some serious legal and harassment issues with the police department and city they were nowhere to be found. Now mind you we had Louis Sirkin as our attorney, who has done a ton of work for the FSC over the years, and the owner of our stores had even been on the FSC board in the past, but they couldn't even be bothered to return a phone call...

Closing his affiliate accounts of even his Forum is not going to make the Problem Go away...
He can reopen new affiliate accounts and run new Forums under new Domain names( there are 100's of them just like his)

what content producers need to do is go after the sites that are hosting the content
like: http://www.filesonic.com http://oron.com http://filepost.com/ http://ul.to/ http://www.wupload.com/

why don't they?

budget I can only assume. There are plenty of Hong Kong firms out there who would help. I am sure it's coming though... from another source:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0911/64053.html
"But the MPAA says the current legal tools don’t go far enough. Using the DMCA for copyright holders to stem the tide of infringement is akin to “shoveling sand down the beach — but with a spoon,” said Kevin Suh, senior vice president of Internet content protection at the MPAA. “That’s part of the frustration we feel.”

man.. do you live in a BOX??

no wonder all content being stolen when webmasters are blind and don't know those places, or just knew them when they were around for years.

those guys get paid between 10 and 50 dollars for every 1000 downloads..

some of them are doing between 10K and 15K per month... I don't blame them for uploading, if adult sponsors fucked them, not paying, closing their accounts or getting their money.

I don't care if some nazi republican thinks that they only make 1K per month.. obviously they have no idea of the numbers.

10-15K per month is standard for this activity, like it was standard for gallery submitters 5 years ago.

so fuck the rich sponsors.. im glad they are making money with it.. shitty sponsors deserve to be fucked like this for all the bad they did to us affiliates during the last 5 years, stealing our traffic, upselling in their members areas and stealing our hard earned MEMBERS..

Im glad shitty sponsors are getting fucked like this.

PERIOD.

This is the firm that incorporated Filesonic in Hong Kong.

http://www.franklinhag.com/

If I had to guess I'd say they own that Dutch hosting company as well.

That is exactly what we are doing with HMN content. We send out once or twice a week. When filestube is reporting 8 pages of dead links, I know we are having an impact. It really costs nothing to do this but time. I did a round of DMCA's this morning... it took me a total of 2 hours between searches, link harvesting, sending the DMCA's, running back and forth to the washing machine and dryer handling laundry, all at the same time. So for any content owners out there who are using the cost excuse, it's just a lame excuse and they just don't want to do it. When 3rd world country labor is so affordable, there really is no excuse. I am training 3 ex cam models this week to sit here 8 hours a day doing nothing but searches and DMCA's. I will have them taking care of hotmanilanights and a few others sites of friends who have shown me favors.

This is simple shit folks. As fast as they can post it... you could have it taken down even faster. The bottom line is we as content owners really have to work a lot less than the bozo's doing the uploads. It takes considerable upload time for video pirates to do this... all we have to do is copy the link and fire it off with a standard form letter that never changes. Monotony... uploaders do become frustrated when they are fucked with constantly and tend to back off a particular sites content when they witness their links going dead fast. You all want to win? Or just sit here and whine about it?

It's amazing how your posts are literally ignored by content owners.
It really seems they don't want to remove their content from warez sites....

Getting all these files taken down really does help. BUT, it would help a LOT more if everyone did it. It's not like pirated a normal movie. If you want to see Avatar but can't find a pirated version of it, you don't say to yourself, "I can't find Avatar, but here is 'Terms of Endearment, so I'll just watch that."

Porn is the opposite. When a guy can't find your scene with the blonde, he'll download the next scene with a blonde in it. Because SO many of the content out there is interchangeable, it doesn't really matter to that guy. That's why everyone has skin the game here.

If we are all in this together, helping each other to get our pirated files down, PLUS striving to make content that isn't so "generic" anymore, we can make a big dent in piracy and our bottom lines.

I say this both as a content producer and a co-owner of Porn Guardian. If you do DMCAs yourself, awesome! If you hire Eric, Nate or Porn Guardian to do it for you, AWESOME! But do SOMETHING, because the "head in the sand" routine won't work to your advantage.

And if you can't afford one of the fully staffed solutions (Porn Guardian, TakeDownPiracy or RemoveYourContent), then consider using our "do it yourself" platform. You don't have to pay the price for a staffed solution but still get the benefits of our industry-leading platform. If your problem is relatively small, this DIY version of Porn Guardian is absolutely free. Otherwise you can buy packages based on how many files you are taking down per month. Medium-sized companies could get by with < $100 per month if they needed to by doing it themselves and using our automation platform. More info on the PornGuardian website under "Services->FREE Do it Yourself Service."

Of course, a fully staffed solution is best. One guy in your office spending an hour a day on piracy is not the same as a 25-person staff (in our case, anyhow) looking for your content 24/7.

those indian and russian uploaders to filesonic are doing bank.. well, 10K per month is quite some bank.

and they also give free jobs to others.. for example the texan republican gays who send MASS DMCA's with their spamming scripts, lol.. quite funny to see those homosexuals sending DMCAs and charging people for it.. quite funny, really.

anyway im sure soon or late karma will hit those guys hard and they will face prison time.. No, not the uploaders, but the scammers charging people for sending fake dmca's... fbi is already informed and since they live inside us territory they are very fucked. heh.

If they can do it by themselves don't need to pay ayone.

Now, paysite owners who don't have time should pay somebody to send the notices.

Nate can't work for even as half as cheap as what I would pay 3 young ladies to sit here doing nothing but concentrating on my site though. No offense intended of course... but this is how I see it. Being that I got my start by shooting for trikepatrol, I am more than familiar with all of their videos. I have seen trikepatrol saying on foogie that they have a content removal service on the job now... and pirates love to post trikepatrol videos in the same threads with hotmanilanights videos... bottom line, I see the links for trikepatrol all staying live long after mine go dead. You may want to hit up the trikepatrol guys and pitch to them... the service they are using now I just don't see making a dent.

I know who they use and can see why. As far as outsourcing on the cheap to PH, that's what you will get.. cheap. We tried that already and they were just sending every link they found regardless of whose it was to us. We had to check their work so in essense it was double-work. No Thanks.

I have to laugh - 21Sextury won't accept me as an affiliate - I run honest tubes and sites - and they allow just outrageous behaviour to occur with their content. I'm impressed with them - not!

I should probably change/amend my comment. It was harsh and not really well thought out.

FSC has always rubbed me the wrong way. Dating back to when 2257 popped up. I really felt they bullied people around for money. I always had a bad taste in my mouth about them. To be honest I never trusted them or asacp. I went to the content retreat in January and emailed Diane Duke a few times to get up and using what FSC had put in place and never received an email. I'm far too emotional (as most of you know) and I was bitter and upset about that which is why I said FSC is full of shit.

Vobile looked great in presentation and we were well on our way to implementing it. We had no issues the guys running it were awesome. In the past month or two I've talked to a few guys who had to implement vobile and they both kinda laughed at it being a joke. That's where my comment about vobile came from which I shouldn't have made because I haven't tried it and I really liked the guys that worked there.

They complain all the time about that. Because file host DO remove content that is reported all the time.

And hosting providers in Europe DO cancel hosting accounts all the time as well.

But the big brains of GFY say nothing happens.most people here don't know shit and those who think are GFY "big guns" harass whoever talks about piracy fighting. They have no fucking clue.

Oh, by the way, and sponsors are too fucking lazy to do something...

Not that I am aware of. I've NEVER seen a testimonial or case study that proves any degree of success.

You'd have thought that if one of the myriad of content removal places out there, one of them would have found just ONE client to say that it worked and their content is now not available on: forums, IRC, usenet, private FTP, lockers, etc.

Don't waste your money on something that you know you cannot fix. Spend it on making a better product.

I will make a bet here.

Use a content removal company for a month. Say they charge 750 bucks.

Look how your sales increase because of all the people that were stealing your content are now forced to buy it. *

Then give me 750 bucks for a month, and I will buy you some advertising.

See if that increases your sales more than the previous month.

I get it, IP owners are scared of piracy and think it equates to lost sales. No amount of money will remove your content from file sharing sites. None. So, do you want to piss money away on something utterly pointless, or do you want to increase your sales.

Simple really.

These companies are clueless as well:

Wait.. who else do I see on that list? Say it isn't so! The author of this study must not be very bright. I'll make it easier to comprehend. Content removal comapanies offer a service where they get paid for their work offset by the economies of scale versus in house legal.... a good solution for people who are too busy with other work.

Hate on brother Btw..Sorry for getting your bro banned. Threats and all.

No idea what you are talking about. Who did you get banned for threatening you with what?

But gosh, that must have taken you ages to do that post, with all those links and stuff. It was very clever. Well done!

But in the time it took you to do that you could have written a case study proving the ROI and increased sales people get after you do your work for them. But you didn't.

I wouldn't short change anyone with a business case written in less than 2 minutes. We don't need to release PR's, spam urls to "scared producers" or build business cases. We're not forcing anyone to use us, however, I do know some organizations who are building that very methodology into their own line of business... not us though.
