Just did 2 CCBill Test Sales

For what it's worth, I just tried to put through two test sales for different sites using my main Santander account

1. Selected a site, the purchase was smooth, the affiliate commision flashed up within 5 minutes

Approx 1 hour 30 minutes later

2. Tried another site, using the same bank account, everything exactly the same until I clicked "Complete the Purchase" at which point I see ERROR(S) Card declined by bank. Please try a different card

I'm sure this isn't CCBill's fault, this is over senstive fraud protection from the banks. We must be losing a lot of sales to this. Strange that the first time it worked with this card and the second time it didn't; they most likely have software that is calculating probabilities, so the first transaction looked OK on it's own, but when the second transaction was attempted it started to look suspicious

It's worth noting that around 6 months ago I had the same problem with this bank account when putting through a test sale for a non-CCBill site. I spoke to the bank and told them to make sure they allow me to make purchases over the net in the future, they said they would change my account for me, but looks like it hasn't made much difference

Thank the "Bros" who have been banging cards for nearly a decade helping to cause all this shit coming about. I'm glad that at least the first one went through.

Do you really think people join multiple sites with no intentions of charging back? If that is their fraud protection probably a good thing.

They've been around a long time, and I have rebills over 5 years old on some ccbill sites. Doesn't get much better than that, even if some people want to rag on them.

Not any billing company has done better in adult. Not a single one.

I was more thinking that they would suspect it as being a stolen card

I think its a good thing you couldn't sign up for two sites one right after the other. Otherwise you (or someone else...) could just keep going... and going... and going.

split test two similar sites, same traffic. one ccbill, one not. there is no comparison. you are just simply losing sales with ccbill.

not theory. fact. try it yourself.

I use CCBill and Epoch in a cascade. On my sites I offer both options to join for the surfer. They can pick either one. If one does not accept the transaction, it will automatically bump to the other processor. Everything is fine, the scrub, whatever that is, is usually by the bank. There is nothing wrong with these processors. Despite all the complaints, no one has ever mentioned the majic processor that approves everyone. They just refer to Nats, like they were a processor.

Rank amateurs blame their tools.

Just in case anyone got the wrong idea from my post, I am suggesting that the problem is with the banks and lies beyond the control of CCBill.

I used to process porn sites with paypal when it was allowed, I know. But fact is it is high risk, and ccbill is still in business.

When the processor goes away, you simply lose ALL your sales, rebills, and members. Not a few. All.

Who else? Who is the processor that makes all the sales? Who would we use where we did not lose sales?

Do you have a name? What is the company? Do you use a payment processor? When you say we are simply losing sales with CCBill, can you prove that? How do you know anything about that?

Right.

I think you may find this isn't ccbill but due to the banking fraud system as you said....

We have members join one site & then another, so it doesn't always happen this way. You probably shall have a call from the bank in the morning

Okay fair enough, but what aboput the thread within the past few days about a webmaster who had a customer complain about a "Transaction declined by bank" then he calls his bank and they say there have been NO I repeat NO denials of any type with this card??

I think we are beginning to pierce the veil of secrecy and yes there is no question that we are losing much sales between the banks, billing companies, us merchants are taking a bath and its time for an overhaul and you know it but you don't have the fortitude or courage to have the discussion....you just want to log into your admin and see 50 sales a day

not you specifically wehatporn but the adult merchant community...you do not want to fix what is broke, you just want to pretend that everything is fine and the few that ask questions are raving lunatics

SwirlsGirl,

I only have limited knowledge on this as I'm a 100% affiliate, I'm happy to perform tests and post up the data for people to take a look at. I do believe you're right that there are many legit sales that are being accidentally filtered out, it will be great when someone steps forward with a solution that will benefit both the sponsor and the affiliate

In the real world how many people buy subscriptions to multiple porn sites (monthly renewing) in 1 1/2 hours?

For us, we sell cam credits where a minimal package might last 30 minutes. So, a repurchase might occur in less than an hour making the scenario you present an major issue for us.

This is one reason why we prefer not to use 3rd party billers -- we process through our bank direct in most cases.

Here's an idea for you. Call up CCBill, tell them what you tried to do and what happened, and then see what they have to say.

If your card is good, then this is just might be CCBILL LOOKING OUT FOR YOU AND THE CARD HOLDER. If CCBIll's fraud detection system thinks that 2 joins in the same day is unusual, then of course the card will be declined.

It's important to understand that CCBill and other billers are on your side. They are providing HIGH RISK transactions for your website and provide tools you need to make more. They payout on time every time, and do so while they themselves take on a higher risk than you do with every transaction.

Instead of treating billers like they are the enemy, try calling or emailing them and ask them why things work the way they do. If you believe that a practice or policy hurts your business somehow, or that an adjustment somewhere could be beneficial to you, all you have to do is ask them nicely and they may be able to help you.

If I buy gas 2 times within a couple hours my card gets shut down.

Not saying ccbill doesn't scrub the piss out of cards but...

As an affiliate of selected site I once tried my ref ccbill code and made a test sign-up. CC and other procedure went Ok, but guess what? My aff account was not credited for that half of amount. I got in touch with them and after a few emails (they wanted subscription number which I provided - strange they didn`t see it by themselves) my account was credited manually.

That happened two years ago. I am very skeptic since then. I think that CCBill often shaves affiliates. My testing showed just that.

Yes, we all know ccbill has been around forever and is the least likely to vanish. But the ratios are horrible, for whatever reason. I'd rather make twice as much with a non-ccbill sponsor and have them (maybe) bail on me suddenly one day pocketing a couple checks of mine than make half of what I could be for years on end.

Are you 100% sure your affiliate code (or however affiliate sales are tracked) was used in the signup form?

Yeah, ccbill kills good sales sometimes. I actually wanted to buy my own membership to my own site and it was declined. I have next level shit though.

I will be getting in touch so as they can take a look into this.

Just to clarify, billers are not my enemy, I was doing a simple test to see what happened, I posted the results of the tests as it's relevant for everyone here. This is not hate, I love CCBill and the other billers and I regularly big them up in other threads.

There are many people creating hate threads about billers, so it's easy to assume that this thead is one too, but if you read through my post fully I've said I believe the problem is the banks

I'm expecting a call from the bank, asking me to confirm that the attempted transaction was me, that's what happened 6 months ago with a non-CCBill site. Last time they locked my whole account up

I, the same... I've had mine lock up & not realise until I was in a petrol station after filling up

I think it's a good idea that the banks watch our cards so intense.... But damn annoying. It's not the banks, it's not people like you or I, it's because of the thieves, or they wouldn't have to do it

I'm the same, I have mixed emotions. I do like my bank to look after my money, but I know I miss out on a lot of legit sales too.

In this case I would not blame CCBill.
I have a credit card with Cahoot - owned by Santander, and they block the card for a fraud check on almost every second transaction - and it is a complete and utter pain in the arse!! So I would blame the bank!

I remember Cahoot, I had one of those many years back, part of Abbey National before they got taken over.

Perhaps the adult industry can offer free advertising to the banks that we know bring us more sales, if everyone on forums agreed to put up free adverts for a certain Bank or Credit Card, maybe that would help us. Or perhaps the banks wouldn't like to be associated with adult and would tell us to stop

I don't think it was a ccbill thing at all. Was reading somewhere that many banks are being quietly downgraded and that is causing credit cards to tighten up on their transactions...

Check and see how your bank is rated...to me the great satan so to speak is the control cards have over banks and the way banks process adult. I think ccbill and epoch and the rest are just trying to make a buck with as few hiccups as possible, thats true...but the processors/gateways are people we need to try and work with...

Give me a universal alt to Visa and I am there...Oh, and fuck American Express...they are the new Hitler Regime if anyone is.

We've just seen a few banks downgraded here in the UK.

My card was recently declined @ verotel. Good debit card with plenty of money.

You may hate American express but I love them! Hands down the best merchant customer service.

As we all suspected, it was Santander, I've just received an automated call from them asking me to confirm recent transactions. They say they've taken a note of them for the future so they will work next time. If this is the case, hopefully once they get a lot more data together they'll become better at predicting which is a genuine sale and which one isn't.

Definitely nothing CCBill could have done with this
