Class Action Suit against content Pirates?

Has anyone tried a Class Action Suit against content Pirates / illegal tubes?

I am clearly not a lawyer, but If you benefit ie sponsor a tube with illegal content, does that not make you a party to the crime?

Is there not a way of making money going after content thieves? I would think there would be law firms doing this all day and night no?

PS: I love tineye.com for finding my images.

Catch up with biz, Max. Check out AVN mag...Lots of article about how this has been a fail.
Have to do 1 at a time...AN IP is not a person...There are so many excuses as to why it is a no. I would love to sue people en masse. If you find someone doing it and succeeding, please let me know.

Lawyers have been trying what you suggest but as far as I know they all get shut down at some point.

P.s. Love your work by the way.

Do you mean like this?

http://business.avn.com/articles/leg...gn=top_story_1

The problem is for everyone you stop there are 100 others to stop. It's like painting the Golden gate bridge, with an artists brush. As fast as you paint, it gets dirty again.

Unless the advertisers on piracy sites can be made to pay for the damage, then it will grow. Even then, will it stop?

This was a problem from the very beginning of the Internet, it was around before, wasn't a problem. The solution is beyond anyone's scope. Get rid of all the pirates and they flood to free Tubes. Growth in sales for most = $000

People like you and Marc will benefit. You have a product few can produce. The rest have a product nearly anyone can produce.

The key, if any exists, is finding something the surfers is willing to buy like they used to and at a price they will pay and make it profitable.

Is there such thing today? Or does everyone scramble and make as much money as possible before the ship finally turns belly up?

I personally know paysite owners that are making 10's of thousands per month from suing content thieves. And they do nothing except cash the check, the lawyers do the work and send a monthly check. Also it is starting to work and putting a dent in overall piracy. If the content owners all got together and really went hard on these criminals it would eventually drive them all under, the problem is the guys with the clout do actually do it are already rich and lazy, thats my theory anyway.

Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (USA Law)
IV. PARTIES > Rule 23.

Because getting certified as a class in an action is not that easy?

Until you can back this up with proof, I think it's reasonable to assume that you're full of shit.

If you dont worry about the advertisers and just go after the pirates it would be better.

Disagree. It's best to first go after those with whom they do business.
