Dude, you convince girls to get naked for a living. You have some game. I drive a BMW M3 convertible. Zero game and the car has picked up girls. I hate my BMW. Broken all the fucking time. Worst car I have ever owned. Had a Mercedes. sounded like fuck was worth nothing after a few years.

I have a good friend, he only drives Cadillac. He gets them with 100k miles and puts another 100k on them. He loves em. They never break down, drive great and are fast and fun.

And i will always own a BMW. The wow effect is that big. It also makes my penis bigger.

Keep telling yourself that. You know girls better then me. Do they know cars? Do they care about speed or reliability? Depreciation?

These are the same people that have made an ugly brown plastic the symbol of the highest fashion. Just saying.

BTW, I totally agree with you. Mercedes is way over priced for what you get. Not even worth talking about. It is the Louis Vuitton, Rolex, etc. type of thing.

what girls like is a nice smille, really really nice shoes, a decent 'CLEAN' car (because they want to be seen) and dressed well (for the type of girl you want)... then let them be the center of your world... while you are with them, keep them laughing... besides I don't actually give a fuck what girls think about the V, I drive that because I LOVE THE FUCK OUT OF IT!!!

Compare a top of the line Cadillac to an entry level Mercedes that both cost around the same amount. I think you'll find your answer (Mercedes).

I'm all for American cars but when it comes to luxury I don't believe dumping another $100,000 into one of them is going to beat the german or even japanese cars in the luxury department.

If you went and drove them you would disagree. The cheap Mercedes is a joke.

M3

1/4 mile- 13.18@ 106.92 MPH

differances
0-60- 0.41 (corvette wins)
0-100- 1.37 seconds (corvette wins)
1/4 mile- 0.54 seconds and 6.97 MPH (corvette wins)
60-0 ft- 6 ft (corvette wins)
skidpad-0.11 (corvette wins)
slalom- 0.0 (BMW and Corvette TIE)

All the comparison tests I've seen between the Z06 and 911 turbo, the differences were miniscule in Porsche's favor, add in the up to $40,000 difference in price and the Corvette wins.

With another $100k into it no doubt it'd come close but personally, if they were same price I'd go for the Mercedes. I like German cars, the quality speaks for itself. Too many US cars have that cheap feel about them... but I guess that is where the $100k goes, into all the nice finishing touches and shit like that.

Like I said I have owned all three, and two of those I would buy again, and it's not the Vette.

of course it's a personal choice. When you send "don't compare", in reality, they do.

Let me put it this way, they are all fast but when you take a Z06 around a race track on a track day and really get to drive it hard, it's a fucking handful, it's a job and it takes the fun right out of the car. Then when you drive it home all you hear is the tire noise, the vibration the shakes of the car, and that fucking fat ass steering wheel Vette's always use, what's with that?

When you take an M3 out on the track, the birds are singing, the sky is blue, you can sip your tea and really get to ticking off some great lap times without thinking your are about to die each time a turn comes up like in a Vette.

Drive them back to back at any track day, then get back to me which one you would want to own.

i always loved the Vette, starting from the C4. but over here you can't drive them, unless you also wear a fur coat and a hat. everything about it screams "pimp" - too bad about that.

nevertheless - driving an almost 19 year old Porsche with about 160k miles on the clock it still feels and looks like new (mostly). And i could sell it for almost the same price i bought it for 10 years ago.

and every american car i have been driving felt "cheap" inside - you simply can't compare it to Audi/BMW/Mercedes/Porsche. the worst recently was a Hummer H2 - it was simply horrible quality. it may not show in the first 1-2 years, but after that those cars go downhill quick

QFT, I've never driven or owned a corvette but even just driving it in car games like Gran Turismo and Forza it's a total pain in the ass handful to drive. Me and a roommate years ago test drove a z06 and we (he) ended up flying over a curb taking out a green power box and some bushes before getting back on the road again. I love the newer corvettes but I would never want to own one because I'd probably kill myself.

You have to admit though, it is fast, if you can handle it.

And if you are implying that I did not have these particular 3 cars then yes, but I had many cars and I ca assure you that similar speed and torque, and power numbers on paper does not mean that both cars are similar in reality.

Some funny stuff in this thread to see how people think, the top of the line caddy will be much nicer than the c class benz, but probably not as safe. someone hit my friend "driverside door" there engine went into the front seat as thier toyota crinkled (she died), my friend walked away with a few scratches, the parimedics told him, if it was any other type of car he would have been dead!

it's also surprising to see how many people put bmw into the same class of mercedes, have you ever drove a benz that wasn't a c class? bmw's feel cheap, and break down all the time....

I don't think it would take a $100g to make a Cadillac or a Corvette competitive with anything German or Italian. Every year the car world tightens up the gap. If you are just looking for performance, All these cars have ring times that are impressive and better than mere mortals will ever be able to realize.

A lot of people are hung up on brands or brand loyalty, I have owned Chevy's, Ford's, Dodge's, Pontiac's, Mercedes, BMW's, Mini Coppers, Porsche, VW's, Audi's etc.

Out of all of those brands the one that stands out the most would be the BMW's for me. Right now I own an Audi and a Ford F-150, go figure. And the Audi is going back before the Ford, lol!

I agree, the thing that kinda bother me a bit is the interior of the V. perfect car for me would be chassis and motor GM and coach RR. and there is your $100K

For me, their slogan says it all. The Ultimate Driving Machine. Couldn't put it better myself, no matter what model of BMW you get into, it is a pleasure to drive.

I agree, though I will probably keep driving caddy as I have great relationships with the dealer... which is important as well I think... in the end it's just a car I drive for 2-4 years and move on to another.

just really happy with the caddy's *shrugs* and I lost mucho respect for the beemrs anyway after reading the reviews stacking them against the v coupe... to me the v coupe doesn't really handle that well after coming from a vette so I can't really imagine that beemer is gonna be interesting to me. if i needed to go 'better' than the caddy I would go semi exotics like the audi r8 which is really just a cheapo lambo as audi bought out lambo anyway... now when I need a sedan I'll think about what's out there with no real loyalty to GM

IMHO Mercedes all the way.

About performance, i don't remember where i heared or saw a review about performance, and Z06 was having a performance a bit over some Ferraries, BUT the materials used, the confort, etc was impossible to compare.

I guess this is the main difference when you have to decide which car you want, nowaday most cars have a performance that is above everyones daily needs, so eaither if your car makes it up to 60mph in 6sec or in 5.8 secs it's not a big issue, ir it has 300 or 305HP is the same, if the max speed is 180mph or 190mph, the same, do you really drive that fast? So, i would pay more attention to the confort and the details, and i think in this aspects Mercedes, Ferrari, and other european brands are the best ones.

I have to agree with you there Ross, with an extra $100k, they would put it into some non essential equipment like a coffee dispenser in the console, or shinier chrome on the wheels, or into GM corporate's pockets. Not to say that the Caddy and the Vette don't have their place, North American cars have always been a little crude when compared to their European counterparts. I still remember Jeremy Clarkson laughing at the fact that the Vette still had leaf springs in its rear suspension and compared it to a carriage. Not to say that he didn't enjoy the car, but so much of GM is still mired in yesterday's technology, hell they were still pumping out pushrod V8's a few years ago.

My issue with GM in addition to technology is styling, the Merc's and Audi's and Bimmers are almost timeless, whereas GM styles look out of date within a few years.
