Mastiff's are great with kids, but best to get a puppy of any dog you're getting thats around your kids, they grow up around them and will even protect them. Best dog I ever had around kids was a border collie, that dog would coe after me if I screwed with the kids and she always herded them to keep them together, it was funny.
Also Mastiff's eat a lot, and well, crap 2 foot tall mounds!

Like I stated in the previous thread, I ended up with 2 lab mixes, one from the pound and one from ARC. One is a border collie / lab mix and the other is yellow lab / beagle mix. They are both good but the yellow one can be a douche at times with new things. We socialized him, took em to a local dog beach multiple times as a puppy. Brought new dogs into the house but he is just weary of new people dogs and kids. The black dog is really really good with everything. If you decide to go with a lab and happen to find a borador like I have, give it some thought.
http://www.designermixes.org/breed_i...6/borador.aspx The black dog was described almost perfectly in this, other than possible aggression to new dogs. I have a feeling you may end up with the mastiff lol. It is the only one you keep mentioning. In the end you are the only one who truly knows what you want. Best of luck to you with whatever you decide to go with. |

Here is a before and after the borador. You can see the other one here as well.
![]() ![]() I remember taking these two to dog beach once and meeting a couple with like 3 mastiffs. I remember them being very well behaved. My yellow dog did a play nip to one of the mastiffs who let out a roar that scared the shit out of em. No aggression though just a very loud warning lol. |
