I wanted to be polite and let you know that you have some of your bias stuck in the corner of your mouth. Might want to wipe it off.

That is an extremely nice way to let him know he's being an asshat on the topic.

Well let me ask you this. If they passed a law tomorrow saying old bearded senile guys could no longer cross dress would you go down and ask the govt permission to voice your opinion or would you just walk the streets dressed as a woman in silence?

Every video I have seen shows that there is never a problem until they stop walking. Every picket line/protest I have ever participated in it was common knowledge that you had to keep moving.

I have to admit, most of the videos I have seen also seem to make it look like the protesters know exactly what they are doing. They want to be sprayed, they want to be arrested. Agree?

Yes, I agree. Some are using civil disobedience and I am personally OK with that. There are many ways to protest ... something as simple as writing Mickey Mouse on the ballot, to holding signs, to civil disobedience.

Why do they have to walk though? Its a protest, not a strike. Did I misunderstand that part?

Try again and learn to understand your rights as a citizen of this country.. Yes even you can go protest in the streets, on govt property or public parks thanks to your first amendment rights.

Just because "YOU" are biased to the message does not mean these people need a permit to protest.

Q. Where can I engage in free speech activity?

A. Generally, all types of expression are constitutionally protected in traditional "public forums" such as streets, sidewalks and parks. In addition, your speech activity may be permitted to take place at other public locations which the government has opened up to similar speech activities, such as the plazas in front of government buildings.

Q. Do I need a permit before I engage in free speech activity?

A. Not usually. However, certain types of events require permits. Generally, these events are: 1) a march or parade that does not stay on the sidewalk and other events that require blocking traffic or street closures; 2) a large rally requiring the use of sound amplifying devices; or 3) a rally at certain designated parks or plazas, such as federal property managed by the General Services Administration. Many permit procedures require that the application be filed several weeks in advance of the event. However, the First Amendment prohibits such an advance notice requirement from being used to prevent rallies or demonstrations that are rapid responses to unforeseeable and recent events. Also, many permit ordinances give a lot of discretion to the police or city officials to impose conditions on the event, such as the route of a march or the sound levels of amplification equipment. Such restrictions may violate the First Amendment if they are unnecessary for traffic control or public safety, or if they interfere significantly with effective communication with the intended audience. A permit cannot be denied because the event is controversial or will express unpopular views

Btw it's a good thing those civil disobedient guys that formed this country didn't listen to your type of nay saying.

why would you muddy your own face? While the numbers you quoted were not found on the page you linked to, the following was found along the right hand margin:

"""Tea party supporters are wealthier and more well-educated than the general public, tend to be Republican, white, male, and married, and their strong opposition to the Obama administration is more rooted in political ideology than anxiety about their personal economic well-being, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll."""

It doesn't even take 30 seconds to find the data on TP employment on that poll. Maybe try harder? It doesn't have the OWS employment numbers but that's been stated in numerous places and easy to find if you have half a brain.

Simple fact is a large amount of TP members are retired on medicare & social security. ie retired and not productive with-in the work force and using govt social programs. (yet like to bitch about kids that can't find work is this shit economy)

Typical right wing hypocrites.

49% stated they or a family member was using social security. 44% were on medicare.

Damn Tea Party are socialist and don't even know it.

one of the funniest things Ive read over past year or so was some idiot from right wing was protesting the social programs and holding a "AMERICA IS NOT SOCIALIST" type of sign,... well, he cut his finger on wood during protest and they had take him to hospital,... think he pulled out cash or had private insurance to cover the cost? nope...,... he didnt have any insurance and had to use... "medicare" -

dude the employment numbers were on page 41. the medicare & SS info was on page 38.

Quit acting so stupid, it's not that hard to find the info in that poll.

Hell I even edited in the percentage numbers so you couldn't cry about that.

Now do you want to argue about OWS unemployment numbers.. How big of a percentage of them are full time college students? Admittedly I have no clue because I can't find that data, but the govt doesn't count unemployment data from college student just like it doesn't count retired.

Meaning the OWS employment rate would get even higher. while TP still end up around 9% which is current nation average rate.

So quit acting like your TP supporters are any better than the rest of the country or more responsible than this group or that. The simple fact is a larger majority of OWS supporters are with-in the workforce when compared to the TP.

The best quote ever.. btw..(this will make 12 clicks cry for sure)

The nation is still recovering from a crushing recession that sent unemployment hovering above nine percent for two straight years. The president, mindful of soaring deficits, is pushing bold action to shore up the nation's balance sheet. Cloaking himself in the language of class warfare, he calls on a hostile Congress to end wasteful tax breaks for the rich. "We're going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share," he thunders to a crowd in Georgia. Such tax loopholes, he adds, "sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying 10 percent of his salary ? and that's crazy."

Preacherlike, the president draws the crowd into a call-and-response. "Do you think the millionaire ought to pay more in taxes than the bus driver," he demands, "or less?"

The crowd, sounding every bit like the protesters from Occupy Wall Street, roars back: "MORE!"

The year was 1985. The president was Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Kettling (also known as containment or corralling) is a police tactic for controlling large crowds during demonstrations or protests. It involves the formation of large cordons of police officers who then move to contain a crowd within a limited area. Protesters are left only one choice of exit, determined by the police, or are completely prevented from leaving. In some cases protesters are reported to have been denied access to food, water and toilet facilities for long periods.

Quit acting so stupid, it's not that hard to find the info in that poll.

Hell I even edited in the percentage numbers so you couldn't cry about that.
no, actually the employment numbers are on page 38.

currently employed or retired=88%
out of work or "not looking for work" = 11% as compared to the general population of 28%

nowhere does the article talk about the ows movement. I guess we can *say* the ows people are employed but their actions show that they are not.

Meaning the OWS employment rate would get even higher. while TP still end up around 9% which is current nation average rate.

So quit acting like your TP supporters are any better than the rest of the country or more responsible than this group or that. The simple fact is a larger majority of OWS supporters are with-in the workforce when compared to the TP.
sorry kid, someone who spends weeks in a tent is not employed, no matter how much people scream that he is.

As I mentioned above College students & retired are not counted as "employed or unemployed" by govt stats.

Meaning you can't sit there and claim college student whom are full time are un-employed while counting the 35% of retired TPers as employed.

The simple fact is only 56% of TP members are active with-in the workforce and 49% stated they or a family member was using social security. 44% were on medicare.

So when you look at the eligible numbers of TP members whom are officially counted as employed or un-employed they have the same average rate that the country has as a whole of around 9%. Yet as a whole only 56% are out there working so in reality the term get a job hits closer to home with the TP.

As for OWS & and their data, I said it wasn't in that Poll.. That was a poll specific to TP members. OWS is a much newer movement and there simply isn't as much data on their member base.

yet with that said there seems to be a average of around 15-13% in the polls that have been taken on unemployment with-in the OWS movement "as a whole". That means It's about 85% "taken as a whole" whom are employed which is far higher than the 56% of the TP movement.

You can find results here for some of the various polls that come up with those numbers on OWS.. http://www.fastcompany.com/1789018/o...ics-statistics

It also claims that 26% are enrolled in school part time and 10% full time, so that would certainly lower the amount of "officially" un-employed as well. This makes both groups very similar in numbers of eligible members in the work force but OWS has a much higher percentage of people that "have a job".

Of course you will ignore any stats and have some reason it's don't pertain to your little world of 12clicks knows everything. However I think the average person that isn't delusional can see whats up.

You know just as well as anyone else that the guys there 24/7 are of the smallest percent. However it's obvious you need some reason in your mind to make up excuses for why they can't possibly be right.

Btw did you enjoy that Regan quote up there I posted for you? I can give you video of him saying it if you like..

I know you righties love your Regan so I thought I'd share the reality of him rather than what you wish he was.

Also lovely tidbit of info he raised taxes 11 times in 8 years mostly on the wealthy because he realized he fucked up his first two years in office and tried like hell to get the deficient back in control.

Opps for that Reaganomics.

you're sadly incorrect. retired people don't need jobs.

um, the intelligent amongst us saw my reply to your dopey Reagan post.

additionally, the ows protesters who live in tents make up ALL of the protesters still their.
none have jobs, none are full time students.
If you remove THEM from the group, remove the anarchists and the homeless, you no longer have a movement at all.

I get that you despise your betters and this makes you embarrass this propped up movement but who cares? its nothing and neither are its supporters.

I wouldn't accuse Crockett and fletch of that just because you don't agree with their political views.
