some people have login pass and api key
or just login and api key. you could make the api key the affiliate link, but then anyone could access it via just that and login. make it password verify as well just to be sure.

you would need to peek at the documentation for the dating program in quesiton, each api is setup differently, such a broad question.
it varies from setups.
