He didn't write the articles, therefore they weren't his messages. lol

He was far too busy with his medical practice and giving speeches around the country to analyze each and every article that was published by the company he owned.

Should he have been more involved so that he could have stopped the offensive material from being released? Yes, and he has admitted that.
