Is working outside in the cold bad for you?

I did it one time, and it sucked, but I don't think it hurt me.. I was considering this one shit job, very temporary and it pays a little better than most because it's outside and manual labor and we're going into winter

Just don't want to make my health any worse

Of course it is not bad for you. I worked outside for 10 years never done me any harm... Do you seriously think it could be bad for you?

Well last time the only thing was the cold got into my hip and I had to eat ibuprofen to get through most work nights.. I didn't know if the cold could cause joint issues that are permanent, or what?

I think I`m right in saying that research indicates that working in an outside cold environment is far more healthier than sitting indoors in the warm.

when you think its bad for you , it is bad for you. But it probably has nothing to do with the outdoors but with the manual work. Pussy

I don't think working in the cold causes one to get sick but it might make one more susceptible to getting sick. It may lower ones immune system by reducing the blood flow which reduces the supply of white blood cells to parts of the body. Also cold air may be more likely to dry the mucus membranes lining the airways causing them to be more exposed to any germs that are present. Dressing warmly and hydrating though would probably help counter these things.

You'll die working outdoors.

Sit on your girlfriends sofa for a few more months and ponder that.

If you dress sensibly then you should be fine, the only thing dangerous about working outside in the cold is you could catch a cold lol.

I used to do a job which involved working outside in all the season (if work was available) and I hated working in the winter the most but what choice do you have when money is involved. wear more cloths in the winter and less in the summer.

Working outside is healthy, cold or warm.. The cold air does nothing wrong for you & only keeps those lungs clean

My father used to work for British Telecom when he was in his 20s, digging holes in the middle of winter, fixing phone lines & putting up poles & pylons, 10foot of snow & blistering cold... It never did him any harm, he's still alive & kicking.
I also have worked in the cold & rain, both manual labour digging trenches & security, walking around in the freezing cold

When I was younger I worked outside in the winter installing cable modems. It got to -10 some days.

You dress for the weather: wear winter boots, wool socks, long underwear, a sweatshirt and winter hat/ski mask.

You'll be perfectly fine.
