I have been noticing some downtime and a long period of waiting for updates to be applied to the tubes sites when you change something in the admin since Friday.

I think they are working on some updates like traffic force integration and stuff.

Getting enough traffic as an affiliate to earn a decent living, well that today is hard. Think a bit harder, here's clue.

Is it hard to lift weights? No dead easy, I can lift a 10 pound weight anytime.

Is it hard to lift a 200 pound weight? Bloody well impossible for me.

The clue is in the size of the weight. 1 person is traffic, 1,000 is traffic, 10,000 is traffic, 100,000 and so it goes on. I see people posting all the time they would love to convert 1-10,000 with a million surfers. Their problem is they're converting 1-10,000 with 100,000. Getting the million mark is tough. Have those people got no traffic?

The Tube from PR shows how easy it is to get traffic and how much you need to get a sale. Now if you want to discuss how hard it is to get a sale, then fine. But give up on the traffic thing. You're wrong.

No my point is so many seem to be happy to give up a lot of traffic to send to PR for so little return it's shocking. Why not stick a redirect onto the domain, an hours or 2 work and send the traffic to their premium site?

I understand people are doing nothing to very little to get the traffic and this proves Roald wrong, it is easy to get traffic. Still if this is the best they can do with the traffic, then that's sad.

PR, well if the best they can do to generate the traffic to sell ad space with their content. Then fine, it's their content, they paid for it and this is the best way they can earn money from it.

If this is a glimpse of the future, then maybe after the pirates are squeezed I can turn my paysites into Tubes and sell the traffic to you. At the moment we're probably doing better than the ratios hare with our traffic. That I do nothing to get.

Maybe you will have to buy content or the price of ad space will reflect the cost of the content generating the traffic.

Back to the original topic, using a few parked domains that were with Bodis before, my numbers are:

Unique IPs: 1,028
Pageviews: 7,382
Video Views: 2,250
Joins: 0

*shrug* I'll rather leave it with hostedtube than generate $5 with Bodis lol, at least I can see that things are actually growing with hostedtube - so people must either share it or bookmark it, I can't be assed to put on any real tracking atm.

Also I did little in terms of making the tubes look good, write texts, just a template and a title at this point.

I can also read more into these stats than anyone so far. In fact anyone with a little skill reading stats and ratios, then thinking logically will come to the same conclusion.

I also know that we made more than DF ever will. When we wanted a CMS, we employed programers to write one, when we wanted another one, we employed a programmer to write another one. Didn't go around asking advice on GFY what was the best. We created what was best for us.

Roald, will give everyone 30 minutes to read the most obvious thing into these ratios.

OK this is obvious what the ratios show. Getting 100,000 of surfers to look at free porn is easy. Unless all these people are doing a lot of work for nothing.

Only 5% chose to go look at the site. Still with this massive amount of traffic it's not so bad. The rest is awful.

1-346 convert on the join page. 0.33%

That tells me after going through the tour and PR doing their very best to convert them, 99.33% chose to stick with the free tube content. PR with their great content, great skills, experience and all the other things these wonderful guys are. Lose 99.33% from their join page.

so to keep the free tube working and clutching straws. They will sell the traffic. Affiliates will be earning $1, $2 per 1,000 uniques. Or will they be earning $30 per 1,000?

So educate us all and explain what's good about that please.

One feature suggestion - add an option to handle 404, as many are putting this on unused or old domains, there will be plenty of 404 errors, so Id be glad to have the option to handle it somehow, either 301 redirect to root or something like that ...
