Why doesn't NATS have trackback/callback features?

This is pretty standard in mainstream tracking. It would be really nice to be able to drill down traffic/keywords. Just an optional callback mechanism that let's me know when a specific visitor I've sent has purchased a membership. This doesn't work with manually created campaigns...

For example:
domain.com/?nats=[code]&clickid=5352

If clickid=5352 makes it to the billing confirmation page, a pixel is fired back to my server letting me know visitor 5352 converted, and I get to see that visitor 5352 came via keyword 'big black ass'.

Or is this already available?

Mainstream & adult work very differently. In adult, the vast majority of the time, the confirmation page is controlled by a 3rd party processing company and we have no way of placing a pixel on your behalf (or even ours) on that page. NATS reporting is based on postbacks, polls, and other methods of reporting directly from the processor rather than a much less reliable pixel calls system.

However, NATS does have the capability for affiliate level postbacks to be enabled. This system will allow you to receive an actual post from the NATS system on various actions regardless of what biller they occur at and without relying on an image or iframe "pixel" to load. The affiliate postback feature must be allowed by the program running NATS. If any program needs assistance in getting this setup for you please ask them to simply get in touch with us & we're happy to help them.

It would be awesome if some programs opened that feature up.

Is there a limit to the number of campaigns that can be created? Seems like it could get pretty large if you weren't careful.

There's no imposed limit. The point at which is would cause problems would be very high & vary based upon the particular program's hardware setup. I'm sure they won't be happy if you add 10 million campaigns to your account, but within reason you shouldn't see any problems.

If you contact some programs about the affiliate postbacks and run into any issues please feel free to reach out to me directly. albright/toomuchmediacom, JohnA1078 on AIM, or 732-385-1536.

Hi John

What will happen when I send like 1000 unique's to a program per day, all with a different on the fly campaign (so I can track each click back).. That will create 1000 new campaigns for my account per day, I'm not sure if NATS like that?

I tried it out with a program and noticed the stats page loading slows down, since there's a dropdown to break down on campagain (and that dropdown will become huge)

I would not recommend creating a new campaign for each click. I'd recommend asking the program(s) you're using to allow you to utilize the features mentioned above.

I've always wondered that myself. Adult is way behind in tracking, which is why I don't push it anymore. I like to deep track my traffic.

I like to see where the click came from, which banner, which tour converted from which source etc.

After I started doing deep tracking like that I could make almost any campaign work and go from red to black, and like $80 without optimizing to mid to high $xxx/day in a matter of days

You don't need to track by firing pixels, server postback from the sponsor to your server works great too and eliminates the problem of the pixel not firing at all on many occasions

You just summed up exactly my points above

We allow you to get full join details on conversions via postbacks from sponsors. Also, if you properly get and use your linkcodes from a NATS sponsor you're able to see exactly where the click came from, which specific ad tool (creative) it came from, which tour it was on, geo info, and more.

These are the reasons the largest programs in adult are running NATS and those running it properly are the most successful. We wouldn't be running the vast majority of the affiliate programs in the industry if we didn't keep up with both program owner & affiliate needs.

You sound like you're on top of your promotions how an affiliate should be. Unfortunately these days many aren't. They simply want to put up links & get a check. Those who promote & analyze properly can do things like turn around campaigns as you mentioned. Happy to see someone doing it properly. Just know that should you want to you have the tools you need available to you via NATS programs to promote how you need to in the adult industry also.
