It was pretty obvious he was going to leave one way or the other.
And the BBC has this backwards: "Despite winning the FA Cup and reaching the Carling Cup final, the Reds finished eighth in the top flight having lost as many game as they won." Liverpool won the Carling Cup and lost the FA Cup Final to Chelsea:  |

Well spotted there, I guess the BBC were in a rush to be first with the news.
Some of Liverpool's performances were outstanding this season, but the finishing was atrocious. I hope Dalglish stays within the club, but the most important thing now is the bring in the right coach, which is a rather difficult call. Benitez still lives nearby, but I doubt that will happen Quote:

Can't say i'm surprised.
Spending that amount of money, only to beat Cardiff (a Championship team) on penalties to win a Carling Cup nobody cares about. I wonder who they will appoint next though!
