What is a good overall monthly ratio for affiliates today?

I was thinking about this today. I know some have programs they push and them may be converting at 1 in 35 and then some other program may be 1 in 3000. What do you think overall for a monthly conversion ratio what would be considered to be good today? Just good not amazing. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 1 in 500 uniques? What do you think folks?

Off of SE blog traffic, my best converting sponsor is doing 1:450 to 1:500 for me...my average ratio seems to hover around 1:1,000 to 1:1,300. With all the program I promote together, the monthly average is always around 1:2,000 (due to some CCBill programs converting horrible).

IMHO 1:2000 raw is about par for affiliates promoting pay sites today. Be careful not to let some sponsors who aren't counting first page hits like RK, BangBros, Program3 (now Manwin) skew your stats or expectations.

A while ago based on trends I predicted we'd be at pushing 1:3000 by the end of 2012. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.

Between 1:800 to 1:1000 including the good, bad and ugly. It's way too easy to discover something isn't converting and continue to throw good traffic after it. Easy to add links, seems incredibly hard to remove them.

Not starting anything because I like you but I'm not sure if you realize it. I just noticed it when I looked at my other topic from way back.

Less than two years ago you were getting mostly 1:450 - 1:600 now you are averaging 1:1,000 - 1:1,300 with a proper average of 1:2,000. It really shows how times have changed. I bet it's the story for most of us.

I'm doing about the same, 1:500 range for very good targeted traffic (which was doing almost 1:50 a few years ago) and 1:2000 - 3000 overall monthly average.

Depends what you're up to really; if the traffic is general or well-filtered/targeted

For what it's worth my CCBill ratio for May is 1:322, it's gradually getting better each month, but that's more down to me seeking out more targeted traffic

- this is only for affiliate traffic, and the average for all the sites in the program
- includes all the RAW traffic (=clicks), dumped directly from Verotel's tool
- includes all the aff traffic sources, i.e. also the ones that typically convert worse (such as promo tubes traffic etc.)
- therefore, the ratios for some sources (like reviews, blogs, etc, are MUCH better than this)
- within this period, the best converting site in the program is 1:<400, the worse is 1:601

I see your 500 and raise it 200, but dont listen to us do what your bosses on gfy say and dont promote verotel sites, and sites they dont like.

- This is all affiliate traffic from mostly 3 affiliates. Have nice day .

Yup...it sucks! I was getting good ratios...now not so much...only have one sponsor that's getting me good ratios, the others are much higher. I can't complain though...just takes a little more work. Although it does make me wonder what ratios will be a couple years from now.

People resist promoting sites on Verotel programs - I hear several affiliates telling me "great content, put it on CCbill and I'll promote it right now".

I've asked why in other threads, it basically boils down to the following, I believe:

- Verotel tools/interface are improving but certainly not top-notch.
- Verotel has great programs, but also quite some mom-and-pop operations in their portfolio. Affiliates are reflexively suspicious when you tell them you are on Verotel. (this will certainly change now that Vetotel charges significant entrance fees, but will take some time)
- Affiliates prefer what they are used too, and that's often CCbill. It also helps them consolidating payments, accounts etc.

I like Verotel for their reliability etc, but there's probably not much point resisting what above, so I guess I'll add CCbill as an option.

I've used Verotel for the better part of a decade. In my experience....

* Verotel doesn't scrub like a mofo (i.e. less declines).
* Verotel tends to rebill better (i.e. better retention).
* Verotel offers SMS and a couple of other EU based billing options.

I've run pay sites for over 10 years, and been in the business 15. I am speaking mainly from a pay site owner, and what I've seen in the different processors over time. I actually dropped CCB for a spell because their declines, and failed rebills were significantly higher than any other processor being used.

All in all, based on your 'feedback' it sounds like excuses from clueless lazy affiliates.

Its weird how a month or 2 back someone comes to gfy and reports how verotel is converting 2 1/2 times better than ccbill..... then many like those stats and are considering using verotel.....only to have verotel shut off accounts until they pay $700.00

When will the banks call it quits...how much of the world's posessions and revenues does it take to say ..."My pot belly nasally speaking banker ass has finally made enough money"

Its starting to appear that they will not stop until they have your urine, blood, dna, and soul

With the right processing solution we could all very well be converting at 1/100
