I love the people defending this law, People are suppose to have the right to protest against their elected officials, they work for us.

But if the president is rolling up on a political dinner and there are a few people outside holding up signs, the Secret Service will throw them in prison!

Welcome to America!

So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that

And this is the problem. You don't take away people's right to assemble and right to protest in efforts to 'protect' the elected officials.

Normally I don't reference Wikipedia, but I found the 'Causes' section rather fitting to the situation going on in the western world in general including the US.

When you put "Obama making free speech a FELONY" in the title, then refer to "this regime" in the original post, then people are going to say the thread is seriously anti-Obama. It's very hard to imagine it in any other light, regardless of later posts and comments.

People have been complaining about this sort of thing for a long long time. Long before Obama was even a US Senator. Right here on GFY even.

So yeah, this administration may be adding to existing laws that sure look to be infringing on the right to free speech. They're adding regulations similar to how other rights are regulated. Sometimes they seem to go too far.

I read a blog yesterday where a guy was ranting on Bush because in sequoia national park there is a caged area labeled a free speech zone. He said you had to pay a fee to use the zone, and pay additional fees if you wanted to pass out paper flyers. It seems pretty f'd up to see a national park sign marking a caged in "free speech zone", thats for sure. But why don't we all concentrate on the body where the laws are made? Congress.

Shh, the fact that just about everybody voted for it and it was practically veto proof, it's all Obama's fault. It was exactly on January 20, 2009 that our rights were infringed on. Obama brought us the patriot act, this and so many other things. All without the help of Congress.

No - I'm saying common sense says that protesters can be a lot more than threatening. It can start off with throwing shoes at the President, and then move up to throwing rocks and flaming bottles. From there your breaking windows and burning police cars.

We have the right to freedom of speech. But this right does in fact come with limitations, and everyone here knows it. You can't protest in my front yard or a crowded movie theatre.

Wasn't there a movie showing people throwing eggs at president bushes inauguration procession lined with people holding up signs saying "hail to the thief" and "bush cheated" and "I know you didn't win"? Yeah, I think it was farenheit 9 something. They had to do away with the traditional walk from the limo to the white house because it was considered to be too dangerous.

Hey Michael can I steal this and post it to a political blog without your 'adult' info as the author?

LOL Matt, once I post something on the internet, it's public domain as far as I'm concerned. Have at it.

OWS is nothing more than epic fail.

The American public is pissed off and rightly so. But directing their anger at local city governments and their police departments is pointless. The Oakland police department didn't cause the recession, yet it's costing the city of Oakland millions of dollars in police over time and damage. Better yet, shut down the port of Oakland so the truck drivers - the 99% OWS claims to represent - looses a day's worth of wages. Fucking brilliant.

You want to protest? Great. Awesome. Instead of camping out in and crapping in our local city parks, get together with the local government, ask them to shut down a local freeway for a for a day, and plant a million fucking daisys. I'm not kidding here. Which is going to send a bigger message - a hundred people crapping in a city park or a four mile stretch of freeway covered in daisys that a million people will drive past daily?

Msnbc

exhibit A : Lawrence Francis O'Donnell, Jr.

A "journalist" and Author that attended Harvard University ..... he doesn't know what Bilderberg Group is. I wonder if he has internet access. I know, the internet is full of conspiracy theories. Wikipedia is a far less reliable news source than an "Opinion News Program" my bad .....

I'm surprised he can tie his own shoe. He's either mentally challenged or a shitty lair.

Good luck with your "News" there ........ you hear what they want you to hear. Might have something to do with it.

Last edited by 2012; 05-31-2012 at 11:57 AM.. Reason: it's a conspiracy!
