This site is awesome. If you study politics and rhetoric, you can see in these Nuremberg trial documents how the German Wiemar Republic was transformed into the Third Reich through brute force, manipulation of the media and courts, and corruption of the political system.

Nuremburg Trial Documents: Means Used by Nazi Conspirators in Gaining Control of the German State

After reading many of the documents, I can see the same forces at work in our country: ie. restrictive voter ID laws; drones used by police departments for surveillance; condemnation of unpopular groups and ideas from the pulpits; destruction of the trade unions; control of public media (efforts by conservatives to defund PBS and NPR); government monitoring our communications (Utah Data Center); and, the fundamentalist movement to dominate the courts, police departments and military academies; the authority of the government to assassinate US citizens; and, a gridlocked government that is no longer able to adequately respond to the needs of the people which will, one day, lead to a crisis giving the fascist the opportunity to create a "national emergency" as justification for a coup. Many of our individual rights have been eroded in the "War on Terrorism" with no defined end in sight or guarantee that they will be restored when the "war" ends.

Whether the forces of fascism win or lose in our country, only time will tell; however, sunlight is the best disinfectant and it helps "to know it when you see it."

Take some time out for an interesting read and a little introspection.

Denial does not equate to 'not true'. The site is compiled based on the works of the US military court records, Harvard University and Yale University.

The only question: are what we are seeing in today's news paralleling the events of the past?

It is a maxim that if you don't study history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes.

To question the actions of our government is not paranoid delusions. Instead, I see it as a patriotic duty as a citizen to protect our Constitution and our way of life.

To blindly accept the status quo and the spoon-fed media and expect change for the better is delusional.

Just my opinion.

Typical standby responses of the paranoid lunatic fringe.

Starts by characterizing the flaws of those who disagree with condescension and the strong suggestion of their ignorance (after all, the only real conclusion is your conclusion)...
"to blindly accept..."
"the status quo..."
brainwashed by the media...

etc etc.

... coupled with a homework assignment.

The deluded one always relying on the notion that their "eyes are open" that they "do the research", their 'just asking questions" etc.

Further, the proper quote is "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" - being that he was a man of few achievements, his most notable being that he's frequently misquoted, he deserves at least to be quoted correctly. It's an idea that's all fine and well except for it being a completely vague and ambiguous idea which can be applied to any weak/non-existent point in a horrible attempt to give it some semblance of weight/credibility as you did by implying you are "informed" and those who might not agree with your points, are not.

I did not offer a quote; but, a maxim.

You have said nothing to refute my position that the articles are a good read and some current events bear evaluation based on perspectives that might be gained from the readings.

Furthermore, you have not had time to read the articles, so I know you are uninformed as to the contents of the documents and making blind assumptions.

I am not paranoid. I do not spend my days searching for anything that will validate and affirm my own paranoid delusions and deep rooted fear/resentment of authority in general.

I'm a huge WWII buff, and I'm currently reading the "Inside The Third Reich" by Albert Speer, which is a great book.

Comparing modern day history to Nazi Germany just isn't possible. Our rights are fully in place and we can in fact say what we want about our government without fear of the police breaking down our doors and hauling us off to prison, never to be seen again. This is what our country was founded on and that will never change.

Stop paying attention to the silly crap the press is putting out as "news". Their interests are less about telling us the news, and more about trying to get our attention. I read an article this morning that says Obama's election is now threatened by a weak job's report. Really? A single report has already decided the election? (Never mind the thousand other headlines we'll see until the election.)

The other post about "Obama taking way our freedom of speech" is another example. This is a law that has been on the books since 1971 and no one ever noticed it. Yes, clearly, they are going to take away our right to freedom of speech.

I think both political parties are corrupt and the Tea Party is regressive and co-opted by social conservatives with their own agenda. No party at present represents my political values of a middle-road, non-extreme, sane political agenda.

I want the Fed and states to get back to their basics and out of social engineering. I want to end open ended welfare with job training and public service for a paycheck. I want to keep the government out of our private lives. I don't care who you fuck and marry; what god you pray to or don't; or, what you eat as long as you don't do it in my living room. We need to get our right to privacy back from the government. We need to change pubic education from a baby sitting service to basic education that will teach the right job skills and educate our children according to their abilities (not the dreams of their parents.)
