A while back Howard Stern had Tito Ortiz on. Howard asked him what advice he would give someone about training to fight to be a badass. Tito told him high school wrestling. If someone comes at you, take them to the ground and choke them out. Most people get off their feet and they are fucked.

Yeah, that sounds pretty accurate. Every kid I grew up with that wrestled in high school was a tough bastard. Might've had something to do with the fact that my high school had one of the best wrestling programs in the state, though.

well it goes by individals. Several people we wrestled with went on to states, the nfl (jim finn) & the olympics (steve mocco) etc. I never placed in states. I was good but not state champ good.

I probably did. Greatest sport. It changed my life. I had friends come back from boot camp & said it was a joke compared to wrestling practice. Right now I'm getting back in shape after a pretty bad bout with pnuemonia. I sacked on 25 lbs from the anti inflamatories, but once I loose that I'm off to Thailand with Phil Baroni for a month training there. Should be fun. Back in the gym tomorrow. kind of sucks, as there is something liberating about a bulbus waistline & being able to eat & drink like a Roman.

I've seen schools advertising classes for kids aged 6-8, and even some as low as 4.
