i dont want to relly on their hosting, asked how much for self hosted and got answer that it will be about 1000usd yearly, so not sure if it is what i need ...

well 1000usd yearly, if you think the pro for 50 sites is over 1600$, and if you are a heavy user of 250 sites, its 3500$ for the year.

I use it, mainly for their easy update feature accross all sites. For that I'm good with the standard package, which comes in at around $0.50 per site and month, if I remember correctly.

Each site definitely earns more than that and my time is worth more than $0.50 per site and month, so I gladly pay for them to handle it. If something goes wrong, they will fix it, I do not have to do manual trouble shooting myself of any special setup.

I just pay and click the update button and we are done!
