You're preaching to a deaf crowd man. It's not even worth wasting time on anymore. I've been in countless debates over freedom, loss of freedom, the patriot act, the TSA, homeland security, etc etc etc and one thing that every single person on the other side of the debate had in common is that they simply do not care. They don't care because "it's not my freedom being taken away'.

I've literally argued in these debates with thousands of people over the years and they are all the same. So it's really a futile exercise to try and talk common sense to anyone who only cares about 'their' rights. And by the time 'their' rights are taken away too, they'll simply shrug their shoulders and deal with it.

That was the first place I ever worked and had a lot of fun and learend a lot. Did not like all the church crap behind the owner and manager but I got paid and thats what counted.

This place would close on Sundays against Mall policy and pay 500$ fine for being closed each week.

Coup...I don't think you realize I am in total agreement with you.

It's the premise and the terminology.

If I said that the "traditional definition of equality" doesn't include people with black skin, it would become clear. Right? According to old tradition, black people aren't equal, therefore they never had the right in the first place, therefore nobody is denying them rights by not allowing them to vote or marry or own land.

In other words, the very notion that there is some "traditional definition of marriage" is a paper tiger. It's just words used to justify discrimination and exlusion of other equal citizens to participate.

Oh but by the way, it has nothing to do with hating gays. Thats a huge leap in the other direction. You dont have to hate gays to not want gay marriage any more than you have to hate heterosexuals if you support gay marriage.

On a more serious side, Chick-Fil-A is in an accommodation business as defined under the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Would you go to a business in 2012 that will serve African-Americans or Jews, but publicly states they shouldn't be allowed to marry? Or donates to some very intolerant groups?

On a different note, they had good chicken soup in 1990 in Corpus Christi when I lived there. The new one by me has crap for food. Food was bad before I found out their politics.

I will put up a gallery tomorrow (don't feel like doing it now) of today's protest. Weak. There was a cowardly vandal that hit the place last night, then around 6:00 PM three lesbians showed up. I had to suggest that they kiss, and the "married couple" obliged.

Afraid as far as making a statement goes, Chick-fil-A supporters won, hands down.

It isn't so much that they hate gays as it it is they don't see them as being their equal. I used to go to both restaurants from time to time until I started feeling physically sick afterward. I miss the KFC from the 60's when the chicken tasted like chicken and Pepsi or whoever was not in the picture.

Being a BenHya Southerner, I've noticed people have two takes on chik fil a. Like the chicken hate the chicken...and "They are a righteous family of god fearing people" or... "what a bunch of fucking wackjobs." IN GA and SC the workers all appear to be on mind control drugs. Like a cult or some shit. Glazed eyes and just a little too happy for me.

I used to go to both restaurants from time to time until I started feeling physically sick afterward. I miss the KFC from the 60's when the chicken tasted like chicken and Pepsi or whoever was not in the picture. Being a BenHya Southerner, I've noticed people have two takes on chik fil a. Like the chicken hate the chicken...and "They are a righteous family of god fearing people" or... "what a bunch of fucking wackjobs." IN GA and SC the workers all appear to be on mind control drugs. Like a cult or some shit. Glazed eyes and just a little too happy for me.
