Paul Markham: Is 104,000 SF for 200 Manwin employees adequate?

Paul,

Manwin just opened their LA office comprising 104,000 SF for approximately 200 employees. This works out to 520 SF per employee. Thoughts please.

For the record, Xbiz did not report on the toilet situation.

On a serious note 10 square meters of actual office space is more than enough. So 520 foots per person is way too much. But again we are talking of actual office space, I assume they have conference halls and other stuff included in that "spaceage"

Inclusive of all common areas. Also wouldn't surprise me if they set aside space for future expansion.

Bigger is not always better, Mr. Noddy-Head. Out of curiosity, what is an "SF"? We now defend Manwin gobbling up square feet?

Could you please ask Mariska how her Mom is doing? Or Mickey? No? Sad... No Mom, no Dad... No talent...

The ol' head keeps nodding, though! Noddy Mariska...

Noddy Mariska reminds me of a different Noddy. This particular Noddy would be all crazy now... Noddy Holder...

Business owners have to provide a minimum of 40 Square Feet per person to meet health and safety regulations. A small office is about 120 square feet. So yeah, they have more than enough room.

Read the article and think about what the office is for. http://www.xbiz.com/news/152665

So not for a lot of people sitting at computers doing what most here do. So need more space than your kitchen table.

Also appears to be in an expensive area, correct me if wrong. So who's employed in the building. People happy to get a job or people who don't work in a small box. People who are treated well and want a spacious, comfortable and productive work space. People who need a good work station to operate properly?

Think expansion also.

Read the thread where I made the original comments to Fabian. Pointing out that he was clueless how much space the number of employees, he was stating he had, required to work. HE argued the point with me, then came back and changed his story after I proved to be right. This acquisition seems to be a bit large, but I have known larger.

A business predominately in online porn needing all this. That I don't get.

I made a throw away remark about how little he knew, by not knowing how many toilets the office had. Nice to see you idiots nit picking to find faults.

Play around with it. http://www.officefinder.com/officespacecalc.html

Quote:
Rules of Thumb Method

Number of Employees: 200
Layout Efficiency: Spacious
Extraordinary Space: 0 sf

Usable Square Footage Indicated: 50000 sf

Detailed Calculation Method

President's: 2
Vice President's: 2
Executive's: 6
Partitioned Open Space: 50
Open Area Bullpen: 140
Conference Rooms:
Mail/Work Rooms: 1
Reception Area: 1
File Rooms: 1
Library: 1
Lunch Rooms: 200
Coffee Bars: 4
Usable Square Footage Indicated: 28231 sf
Now play around with the real costs of that office, rent, services, employees, insurance, etc. 200 people at $1,000 a week = $200,000 a week, $10,400,000 a year. Before you shoot me down, think about it.

Yes a toilet cleaner or affiliate costs less. But doesn't need this office location or space.
