I think it depends on a few things like the screen rez you plan on using, distance from the screen and what you plan on using it for.

Personally I have 2 x 21.5" monitors at eye level and a 32" LCD above them which works well for me.

A 32'' TV used as a monitor is not the same as using a 30'' monitor from the likes of Dell or Apple.

My 30'' Dells can display 2k, where a 32'' TV maxes out at 1080p.

I still use a 22" screen. Since I always sit quite close it's big enough for me...

It depends on the Resolution.

The iMac 27" is great because the resolution is so high (2560 x 1440). If you are planning to use a 32" TV as a monitor you may not like the results as its max resolution is only 1920 x 1080. If this is the case you may like it for previewing video but the GUI may not look as nice as you hope.

I use my 42 inch tv in my living room as my monitor on my living room pc works pretty good with the HDMI setup ... was thinking maybe 32 inch maybe a bit much for eye level on my desk

I found photo editting on my 22" monitor difficult (didn't like the precision) - went back to using a 17".

But the 22" is good for watchin' vids/movies on and viewing pics.

32" is nice actually. I had a 32" for my Mac, but now I use a 40". It's much nicer for video editing.

I have a 32 inch Sharp Aquos LED TV, wall mounted. I do lots of graphic and animation work in linear color space, and it works fine for me.

Just make sure its at least 3 feet away from your eyeholes.

I've had my computer hooked up to my tv for a while now, don't think I'll ever go back to a regular monitor. It's great for many reasons.

I have my tv on a dresser in the room, and I have a computer chair to give me some distance, and use wireless keyboard and mouse on a food tray, and it works out perfect.

HAAAAAAAAAA awesome, I found it harder to edit when it was a huge monitor though, well it was on a projector screen. I use two 27 inch now but a little bigger could be better. Where is thats what she said lines?

of course its too much, I have 21 and I would not upgrade to anything bigger even if somebody gave it to me for free. 32 is not too much, its stupid.
