Mitt Romney's Yacht

I'm sure Mitt Romney is "just like everyone else". You know, my friends and I always roll up (float up?) with my yacht which is registered in... The Cayman Islands.

Quote:
Gov. Mitt Romney's campaign toasted its top donors Wednesday aboard a 150-foot yacht flying the flag of the Cayman Islands.

The floating party, hosted by a Florida developer on his yacht "Cracker Bay," was one of a dozen exclusive events meant to nurture those who have raised more than $1 million for Romney's bid.

"I think it's ironic they do this aboard a yacht that doesn't even pay its taxes," said a woman who lives aboard a much smaller boat moored at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina.

Romney's Cayman-based investments have come under fire during the campaign.

The event, attended by no more than 50 people, along with Romney relatives, including older brother Scott, appeared on no public calendars. ABC News obtained a schedule of the Romney campaign's "Victory Council" and waited dockside to speak with members.

"It was a really nice event. These are good supporters," said billionaire Wilbur Ross, an energy industry executive.

LOL that is pretty fucking funny. They didn't even bother to take down the flag. He needs better PR flacks who can see something like that and imagine the trouble that lies ahead.

Bad PR is the only thing keeping Mitt's name in the media.

I don't think they can take down the flag. The boat is registered in the Cayman Islands and must fly the flag - He (they, whatever) can't just change it to a US flag.

You would think someone on his staff would have said "Gee, maybe we shouldn't be throwing a party on a boat registered in the same country where Romney has his tax shelters hidden". I don't mean to bash Romney but you would think someone would have applied common sense here.

You can still fly a smaller flag.

Plus the guy is guarded by the secret service. It's not like someone would say "zomg, they just took down the flag, let's investigate!" The secret service would say "sorry, this is a secure zone and you are getting nowhere near this boat."

Seems the boat doesn't belong to Mitt... But that doesn't change much.

When people point out that Romney is wealthy are they implying that Obama isn't also filthy rich?

They're all millionaires who don't give a fuck about regular Americans.

Until we have publicly financed elections with short election cycles, we will be stuck with this fundamentally flawed system which primarily serves the rich and powerful (the Republi-Crats).

It's a bad thing to try and avoid taxes?

You people really believe the government needs to take away our money in order for it to operate, don't you? lol

You probably don't even realize why the IRS was created in 1913, the same year that the Federal Reserve was created. I'll tell you why. It's because your income taxes pay for the interest on the money loaned to our government from the Federal Reseve. The government does not need to take your hard earned money in order to operate, they have the Federal Reserve print up as much money as they need out of thin air whenever they want, as well as thousands of other taxes.

But this is just crazy talk to you brainwashed Americans, you love handing over your hard earned wages to your government, you probably do it with a smile on your face.

So they have to pay the Federal Reserve interest but they can also have the Federal Reserve print money for free? Alrighty then.

You seem to have reading comprehension problems.

I never said they can have the Federal Reserve print the money "for free."

I said they can have the FED print the money out of thin air whenever they want.

The interest still has to be paid and that is where the income tax comes in.

Also, the part about "thousands of other taxes" is important because those taxes actually do fund the government's operations, while the income tax simply pays the FED interest.

Is it a bad thing to try to avoid taxes? Well, yes, yes it is.

Don't get me wrong, I do the best I can to avoid paying taxes. However, I'm not running for President of the United States. If your running for President of the United States, you should be a model citizen - not hiding your money or banging your maid.

lol, good luck with that, most presidents are total dirtbag sleazeballs, this is why they are so easily blackmailed by their corporate masters.

Hey, Clinton was getting blown in the Oval Office by some slut.... I'm sure they all are. Once you reach that level... You get blown every day by some slut.

I'm just saying that if your running for prez, you shouldn't be throwing parties on a yacht that is registered as a tax shelter.

You can't blackmail someone over something that is known publicly.

Clinton had much worse skeletons in his closet, they all do.

You think Obama doesn't take all the tax breaks he can?

Sure he talks big about everyone should pay more including him, but he wont volunteer that money until he HAS to. Thus, same as taking all the breaks you can till it isn't legal.

Blame the game not the players..

How much has Romney donated to charities, how much has Obama?
You can look at numbers and stuff from a million different angles.

How much did Mitt pay total in taxes how much did Obama? Well I guess I don't think Mitt has released his taxes yet.

Somebody posted that Mitt doesn't want to release his taxes because he has been holding out on the tithing to the Mormon Church and not giving his percentage.

Mitt, show us your tax returns!!

I'm not saying Obama doesn't take all of the tax breaks he can. I'm sure he does. But I don't think Obama is moving money off shore to the Cayman Islands. I think the difference between what Obama makes and Romney makes is staggering - two different leagues. Obama made $789,674 in 2011 while Romney made $20.9 million. Romney pays more in taxes than Obama makes.....

When it comes to paying taxes, there are different ways of going about it. Most people take honest deductions while others write off repairs to their truck as their "company car". Then you have Romney who most likely has a team of advisers telling him how to stash his money.

You can look at numbers from different angles... How much did Romney give to charities? Most likely more than Obama made. But.... How much of Ronmey's giving was really more of a benefit to him as tax write offs?

Seems crazy but true and at a fixed interest rate of 6.5% paid to the original shareholders in the Federal Reserve. Now they claim that the shares can never be sold but what they don't say is that the shares are held by other companies such as BOA which can be sold themselves in turn selling those shares..

I just wanted to see what your crazy response would be. The IRS was created in 1862. It got its current name in 1918. Facts are your friend. Now please prove to me that that every dollar in income tax is going to the fed. Income taxes existed before the fed.

Mitt, show us your tax returns!!
I thought it was because he made a few million off burning medical waste (innocent dead babies) from abortion clinics.

You "just" wanted to see what my crazy response would be? Looks like you wanted to do more than "just" see my response since you are engaging me further telling me to prove things to you. lol

The income tax existed before the Fed and it actually funded the operations of the government at that time.

This changed in 1913 with the 16th Amendment. The income tax which pays the Fed interest was created in 1913, didn't mean to say that the actual IRS was created in 1913.

Mitt was BORN rich - really, really rich. Obama was actually a person of average means. He was in the White House when he finished paying off his student loans! Ever think Richie Mitt ever wondered how he'd pay for school???? Are you fucking kidding me?

Obama is NOFUCKINGWHERE near as rich as Mitt. And his money came primarily from book sales. Mitt increased his already huge fortune by manipulating the tax code and devouring companies.

They are NOT the same.

All the shit about where the fucking boat was registered is the big story. Why didn't the ABC News? Crew get some pics of who the billionaires, who are trying to buy the Presidency were?

Yeah, it is.

We are talking about the potential future president of the United States. He shouldn't be having any parties on a boat registered in any other country, no less a country that is well known for tax havens.
