Selling physical products... pricing question

I've a friend that is selling "boutique" cosmetics.

A few people have asked if they could sell some of these products from their brick & mortar shops.

Anyone here have an idea what the norms are regarding the costs involved, etc.? I.e., how much of a discount should be given in order to allow the store to profit. Is the store typically required to buy in bulk up front or are products like this given on loan until the money is made?

Anyone with this type of experience? Thanks!!

If the store wants wholesale pricing and retail markup, they buy upfront in bulk.

Find someone in that industry and check with them. Retail mark-up can be anywhere from 20-45% depending on the product. Your friend should come up with an MSRP first based on their costs to produce I guess.
