He still lives, last I heard he'd sold all his worldly possessions and taken up a residence in an abandoned sewer branch below Paris. I'll let him know you're thinking of him.

I don't know, the guy could be right.

i used to live one street away from him in paris. sadly we never met but he would often invite me to see the catacombs of paris which are underground graves....

true story... so it sounds unreal, but could be true.

Some of you might have seen some pyramid climb photos around on the net over the last few days (gawker etc).

Original source was:

Wow! Is that the number one experience so far for you? Gawker says it was a group of Russians, true or a cover story?

Have any video?

Nice to hear from you Simon, glad you're doing well and doing what you love

Hey, great to hear from you too.
One of the guys I went down with, Moses, has been wanting to climb the pyramid for a few years now. We almost did it a year or so ago, but there was an intersecting story of a girl, another girl, a trip to turkey and an abandoned soviet museum on a hill.

So, finally, we headed down, scoped it out and did it. It was great - two friends, centuries of history, and a bit of adrenaline.

We know the russian guys - they contacted us after, and then headed down a few weeks later. I guess they hit the press with their photos

Best experience ever? Hard to say, tough call. Certainly a great experience. I'd have to dig through my site to work out what was what :D

This certainly stands out as something neat of late

Oh btw, my friend Moses wrote what is really a fantastic book about life, exploring and girls. I've got a few photos in there, and the pyramid story too. If you've got a few $ to spare, I can highly recommend it as a read

Holy crap, you part of that crew who climbed the Pyramids? I just saw that today and was wondering if it was you. The pics have a bit of your style to them, but the Russian part made me think otherwise.

Just bought the book.

I have been exploring for 30+ years, just not with the cameras. I missed out on all of that, but I still have the memories and the point and shoot pics.

Recently I bought my first DSLR and have been starting to take pics with it.

Your photos are amazing and you inspired me to go and get the camera and document life with more than just my point and shoots.

You guys make photography look so effortless. Many people don't really understand how detailed photography really is until they try it with a pro camera.

I'm just now getting the hang of some of the trickier shooting situations. I also completely botch many others. Photography is humbling.

Keep exploring man. You have one hell of a life story so far.

Hah. How many of these do you have?

Thankfully I've never gotten one of those. The Brasilian police once detained me though. That trip was, however, more oriented towards drunken foolery than organized exploration.

Oh shit I saw those the other day and TBFH I actually thought of you are your pictures. Funny stuff it was you that did it, the article I saw said it was "Russians".

I'm in the process of redoing a small class B camper van, adding solar the whole 9 yards so I can boondock and I intend to travel the country for the next year or so. (selling all my shit and just hitting the road) If you end up back in the states at some point would be cool to hook up as I'm gonna be doing some of my own urban/nature exploring.

I love your photography and was kinda intrigued to find out what that saucer shaped building was all about which you took photos off

The Buzludzha monument ? or to give the building its official name, the ?House-Monument of the Bulgarian Communist Party? ? was envisaged as a symbolic meeting place for the communist regime. Resembling something straight out of a 1950s sci-fi flick, the colossal concrete saucer perches at an altitude of 1441 metres above sea level ? on one of the most inhospitable peaks of the Balkan Mountains.

Have you ever visited Chernobyl? After I saw your site I thought you'd really make some amazing photos there

Thankfully I've never gotten one of those. The Brasilian police once detained me though. That trip was, however, more oriented towards drunken foolery than organized exploration.

That was the silliest ticket ever. Jumped a freight train in australia, and got seen a few hours into the trip. the drivers and the cop didn't care, but news filtered through to the head of the rail company, and went in the newspapers, the TV, everything.

Fantastic experience though.. I'd wanted to hop that train for 10 years

Yeah, Moses is a good friend of mine. He's the guy (along w/ his friend) who got up on the eagles. I headed over there last year too:
