Yes you can do that by assigning permission groups. I have an admin group, accounting group and design group. I have the projects partitioned by group and then set the user permissions to only view their tasks within their groups.

BaseCamp is very proficient, but I need something much simpler. So far my favorite is Pivotal Tracker -but I want to switch off that platform.

I use Microsoft OneNote,
via Office 365, so it's a hosted service with Microsfts SkyDrive, which means I can have it on my iphone, ipad and from any computer (with internet access) I darn please. The app for iphone/ipad costs a handful of dollars but well worth it. I then make tabs for each group of sites and separate pages for each site within the group, adding in passwords, setups, current status and so on for each site. Works very well for me.

I find Google Docs very convenient - always online, always available to users anywhere. Excel/Calc (openoffice) ..much better because I can do complex calculation, estimation, graphics, all kind of sheets .. but bad if your work involves multiple users/multiple location.
I don't use newer tools .. because i'm an old dog, but i'm sure there are some greater apps there. |
