Tried making a long thread. Didn't make perfect sense, will try a small thread - Humans and Tragedy

Basically I was going to make a list of what I thought was the root cause of all problems and I ended up arguing with myself. In my own thread before it was even published.

Anyway, Chemicals and Stress have to be the root cause of all evil and problems in this world. And it is time us humans who are still a very young species, decided to do something about.

We allow food to become a blend of shit that gives us mild satisfaction at the risk of our health and at the loss of real nutrition.

We allow drugs to enter our lives to replace health and happiness with (mostly) short term soloutions.

We do not help eachover enough, we seperate ourselves from the hard stuff in life too much and turn a blind eye.

Our mind really is a thing of beauty, but/and it is fucking fragile! You've probably seen it for yourself already, you don't need to be told, you just need to stop pretending.

Thread still sounds too kooky for my liking but fuck it I'm hitting the post button and going to check back tomorrow.

I'm sure someone will agree with me, there is something wrong here if we are still killing eachover over stupid shit that really doesn't matter.

One thing I have always wondered is if the drugs I did when I was younger will fuck me up when I am older.

Even with antidepressants....few have been around long enough to know what really happens long term. Most of the oldest ones aren't even hardly used anymore.

Not just junk food, even the some of the "healthy" stuff is full of shit.

Too much sugar, too much bad fats, too much MSG, Aspartame, High fructose corn syrup, Etc. Lots of things that essentially are not natural and shouldn't be going in our bodies.

Lots of foods that contain a ton of calories and offer nothing in return to your body. Like cola etc.

What drugs do you allow in your life?

Me.

1. Currently trying to quit smoking (drug addiction to nicotine).
2. I enjoy a beer, another drug.
3. I take no prescriptions what so ever, the occassional tablet for a headache (see 2 )

They are the obvious one's, what about the things mentioned above in our food? They are pretty much drugs aswell. Caffeine, Un-natural refined Sugar(s) MSG, etc.

I eat a lot of chemically-processed foods.

My job is extremely stressful.

I haven't shot up a kindergarten class.

I would assume you are referring to the school shooting. But you used the word "evil" which to me, means war, genocide etc. Not that I think those things are always bad from a practical point of view. My point was that you are ignoring human nature. Its mans nature to always want more, to strike out for more, to take more and to gain more status, more power and so on. It's an evolutionary trait and natural behavior. The vast majority of "evil" are people will less, trying to get more. Greater evils like Stalin or Hitler or broken people doing the same thing for the same reasons, just to an unreasonable degree. As people, we have a strong tendency to misunderstand why people commit acts of violence on a large scale. Al Queda for example is not on a holy quest. Religion is just a convenient rallying cry to find people to go out and die so others can gain power and status. The organization are simply nothing more than a bunch of angry people, from a region that breeds angry people and who have nothing (namely status and power), who find increased status and power in their actions. This is why leadership are never the ones strapping on the suicide vests in spite of all their professed beliefs and this is why leadership is always far from the fight.

When it comes to social hierarchy, those on the bottom want to be on the top. Eventually leadership will form and organize people to try to make that move.

On a small scale such as the act of 1 or 2 individuals, I don't think its fair to group with the Stalins or Pol Pots of the world. Different acts, on different scales, different intent and with different motivations.
