EH has a few scenes that should have been removed (the guy jet packing back to EH for ex) - It seemed too comical. But apart from that and they chose a poor track for the credits - Its a really good movie. Cant think of many sci-films as scary as EH.

Kudos for being cheap, but Primer is quite boring. Similar concept of time machine loop mess but way more funny it is Timecrimes (Los cronocrímenes) from 2007: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480669/

About the problem of duplicate self's, that's nicely done in The Prestige (2006) by Nolan: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482571/

In fact Nolan made previously an enough time loop mess milestone on Memento (2000): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/

On a side note The Dark Knight (2008) for me it is boring and vote 9.0 rank #7 it is simply ridiculous; and Inception 8.8 #14 also silly being a total mess of movie. I like The Prestige best from Nolan and Memento 2nd, then his latter movies are higly overrated and I would not even go to watch a second time. Esp. Inception it is totally pretentious chaos, people vote it high because they are afraid they're considered stupid if not understood a Nolan movie.

LOL man, Timecrimes is a foreign RIP OFF of Primer and made for 2.6 million dollars, a budget 371 times greater than that of Primer LOL. That's the funny part about it.

Agreed, they could have done without some of the "black guy comedy relief" stuff, but I suppose they thought the film was so dark they needed something to lighten it up a little.

It seemed to me like it may have been something the studio pushed for after seeing the rough cut, typical d-bag suits.

Timecrimes is made few years later, but I don't see how it is ripped from Primer, the story looks quite different - Primer is about doubles and fail safes and bring time machine from future to past itself so more engineer oriented, while Timecrimes it is plain hilarious dark comedy. The time machine storylines paradox was already in 1960's star trek TV episodes, how Primer invented anything? Even the popular movies Terminator and Back to The Future are from 1984-85 when primer actors was barely born.

Some less known ones:

Ivan Vasilevich menyaet professiyu (1973)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070233/

The final countdown (1980):
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080736/

Somewhere in time (1980):
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081534/

Googleing the above movies together I found a nice list here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._fiction_films

Some are about jump in future at once, so no any paradox of go back and encounter yourself double's. Oh by the way I seen Kin-dza-dza listed there, it's hilarious for sure: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091341/ , it's in youtube: https://youtube.com/watch?v=I47CNxwlt9U
That's about make sci-fi with little money

Beyond the Black Rainbow is a good recent sci-fi/horror to to check out. It's slow, but mesmerizing to watch. Smoke up before watching for the full effect.
